I've had some discussions along these lines, but my biggest problem is Father Mike arguing with me about my practice of praying to the statues.

It is amazing to me that so many evangelical types are so absolutely convinced that "Catholics worship Mary" . . . and they have never set foot inside a Catholic church.

It's most fun when they try to convince you that, yes, you actually
do worship Mary.
Anyway, it would appear that here, on FR, some progress is being made. I've actually read where some of the Prots have made reference to Mary as merely being a "quasi-goddess" for Catholics as opposed to a goddess.

I've had this conversation with non-informed people, mostly extremely hostile B******ts. Some of them even think Catholics are worshiping the devil. Isn't that something?

My sister's MIL is just one of the Evangelicals I've had this with. It's like the author taped our conversations! And I've had it with other non-Catholic Christians, too.
