You should not use the word "traditions" when describing Protestant denominations.

:)

Hmmm - guess my move from an Episcopal/Anglican church to the URC was the right one..... (though I don't know how that Congregational/United Church of Christ fits in....)

Perhaps I should entertain the notion:

Rank Item Percent
1: Eastern Orthodox (100%)
2: Anglican/Episcopal/Church of England (98%)
3: Roman Catholic (92%)
4: Presbyterian/Reformed (91%)
5: Congregational/United Church of Christ (69%)
6: Lutheran (69%)
7: Baptist (Reformed/Particular/Calvinistic) (51%)
8: Church of Christ/Campbellite (27%)
9: Seventh-Day Adventist (24%)
10: Methodist/Wesleyan/Nazarene (20%)
11: Baptist (non-Calvinistic)/Plymouth Brethren/Fundamentalist (8%)
12: Anabaptist (Mennonite/Quaker etc.) (4%)
13: Pentecostal/Charismatic/Assemblies of God (4%)

One note: I happen to be studying both the development of the liturgy and the creeds, much of which material comes from the East. Perhaps I'm absorbing that.

Of course, getting 98% on my own denomination is reassuring. Though I do have to note that I agree with the author that he needs to further touch up the survey. In several cases I could frame variations that I think are currently held that might further distinguish his material and some that did not quite fit my understanding.

In Christ,
Deacon Paul+

I can't imagine how the survey "decided" that I have more leanings toward Lutheranism than Orthodoxy as my second-place, but the #1 and everything below #6 seems about right to me.

I always have issues with these tests. For example, question 2, "What is the relationship between the Law of God and the Christian?", in one of the answers, the "Law of God" is said to be the entire "Old Testament". In another answer, apparently Christians can do whatever they want. And in the third answer, the law is still binding.

Well none of these answers are even close to satisfactory. Anyway, my results:

1: Anabaptist (Mennonite/Quaker etc.) (100%)
2: Lutheran (89%)
3: Baptist (Reformed/Particular/Calvinistic) (87%)
4: Seventh-Day Adventist (80%)

11: Pentecostal/Charismatic/Assemblies of God (50%)
12: Presbyterian/Reformed (50%)
13: Methodist/Wesleyan/Nazarene (32%)

(though I don't know how that Congregational/United Church of Christ fits in....)

Historically reformed, and their constitutions still pay lip services to their roots, but now well on the left side of the mainstream liberals. It looks like the test was based upon objective statements of what folks in various groups say they believe, rather than what current practice is.

That being said, I understand that there are remnant congregations amongst the Congregationalsts as there are in the PCUSA and ECUSA.

For example, question 2

I hoped that it was poorly worded, and that in the third selection the final reference to the law meant the moral law. If so, that choice in full would identify the Calvinists. I'm not sure what the other 2 sort out; perhaps evangelicals for the first and Methodists for the 2nd?

Thanks for the info - I'm in Canada, and I think that the Congregational church mostly disappeared here decades ago when it became part of the newly-founded United Church - that explains a lot :) And yes, the official documents of a church are sadly not always reflected in the current beliefs and practices.
