AMEN !!!
Both my wife and I are sick to death of the insipid, primarily Jesuit garbage which, not surprisingly, were mostly written in the time-frame immediately prior to our late Holy Father bringing that then wayward Order back under proper Papal authority.
Where to start?
"On Eagles' wings" is particularly vomit inducing.
My wife, quite rightly, calls them collectively "Mr. Rogers' Hymns' and I find most of them, aside from having lyrics highly suggestive of 'Earth Worship', have musical scores not unlike soap opera themes!

Good news for SURE! I detest those guitars and drums! It's like the Church feels that the kids need to be ENTERTAINED! I never have liked the Youth Masses....why can't they just go to Mass with the rest of us?

Yes, this is hopeful but then the Vatican II documents say Latin should have "pride of place." So...I won't hold my breath. One of the worst texts in my opinion is Sing a New Church Into Being, but some of the guitar lounge music that has come into the Church is pretty bad. The music itself is ok, but not during Mass. Mass is suppose to be other worldly not make you think about Saturday night karaoke at the local watering hole.

That said, BXVI has already made an impact on my formerly wretched part of North Florida. I'm not sure exactly what has happened, but all of a sudden clergy around here who had been happily doing the Mass of Cremation (aka, the Marty Haugen "Mass of Creation") are scouting about for chant and organists.
If it's gotten to North Florida, you know it's serious!
