I highly recommend the work of Todd Wilken of the excellent Issues Etc. radio/Internet program (kfuo.org/ie_main.htm and issuesetc.org) and Gene Edward Veith of WORLD magazine and the Cranach Institute.

Both are fellow Missouri Synod Lutherans--and, in the interest of disclosure I suppose, I happen to know both of the gentlemen.
