The Unbearable Lightness of Griswold

Frank, I'm beggin' ya.  Just don't:

My prayers and those of the Episcopal Church in the United States embrace all who have died and have been injured in yesterday’s attacks in London. We pray as well for their families and friends. Through this tragedy we are put in mind once again of our common vulnerability.

To radical Muslims who want to force the Islamic religion and sharia law on the entire world and don't mind killing or maiming every Jew or Christian they possibly can in the process.

In order to win the "war on terrorism" we must address its underlying causes and win peace in the Middle East. The three Abrahamic faiths are called to be the servants of God’s peace which embraces all people and alone can overcome the fears and hatreds that divide us and prevent us from regarding one another as God’s beloved children. May all who call God Father and the Compassionate One be drawn together in a renewed commitment to peacemaking for the sake of God’s world.  May all who call God Father and the Compassionate One be drawn together in a renewed commitment to peacemaking for the sake of God’s world.

For all practical purposes, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America has just blamed Islamic terrorism and mass murder on the existence of Israel.  After all, if Israel had only let the Arabs win in 1948, 1956, 1967 or 1973, we wouldn't have this terrorism problem today.  Everything would be hunky-dory if Israel would just quit trying to prevent the PLO, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and all the rest of them from killing its citizens.

And Frank?  Please stop blathering on about "the three Abrahamic faiths."  Yours is not an "Abrahamic faith" simply because you decide it is.  For all our many differences, Jews and Christians, and those two faiths alone, share something profound.  Every Bible that every Christian owns contains the Jewish Scriptures.  NONE of them contain Korans; by Frank's definition, Mormonism is an "Abrahamic faith."

"The three Abrahamic faiths are called to be the servants of God’s peace," are they?  In a perfect world.  But one of those "Abrahamic faiths" is called to proclaim first and foremost that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world(something that the "Abrahamic faith" invented by Mohammed in the 600's AD doesn't believe), rose to life again to open the way to heaven for all who believe on His name and will one day come again.  Sucks to have to point this out to a "Christian" minister.

Please stop saying things, Frank.

Griswold is so out of it. The illiterate camel jockey, Mohammed, had listened to both Jews and Christians and put together a memorable mishmash of both religions without understanding the first thing about either one. Ishmael was the promised son, not Isaac, etc.......
