PRAYER REQUEST
06/18/05 | BIRDS

Posted on 06/18/2005 6:30:17 AM PDT by BIRDS

I am new to posting at FR, although I've read the site often over the years, but, anyway, I am not sure how to go about requesting prayers -- if I'm supposed to enlist in some process or not -- so I decided to just go ahead and post a request directly. I am sure someone will explain any set procedure otherwise.

The prayer request I am making is for immediate helps. I hesitate to explain the specific circumstances but, generally, the situation is thus: I am being harmed by the bad intentions of others who are negatively impacting a service that I rely on, and by doing so, creating harms upon me, my life and circumstances.

If you've ever dealt with a local organization that is supposed to be organized and regulated by a federal agency, federal legislation, but which "interprets" and "edits" the legislation to suit whatever or whomever, and by that process interferes negatively on the lives of others by interfering with citizens' interaction with that federal legislation...inexplicably, without provocation, just because they can.

I met with some of these people this past week and my intuitive perspectives were confirmed (and confirmed afterward by someone who accompanied me) and that was that individuals involved in this situation (not of my choice or selection, I just have to work with these people by organization) were alarmingly negative without acceptable cause to and about me, that I'd presented accurate information in light of the legislation concerned but that, oddly, those to whom I presented it were, for lack of a better word, "dark" in their presence and in reference to me and what I'd presented. The person who accompanied me remarked that the body language alone of a few present was "surprising" in how "obviously" bothered about me they were. Which revealed by meeting them -- prior to the meeting, only in correspondence and/or by committee name only -- that what I puzzled about up to this point as to inexplicable and unsupportable decisions were, in fact, conclusions being made motivated by bad intentions and not (at all) by the legislation involved that requires, to the contrary, certain successful actions.

This is one of those situations that regardless of how much accuracy that is substantiated by federal legislation is presented, a small group of people affected toward the negative are harming others (me, specifically) by denying the legislation and who appear to fear no recourse, no authority to correct them or intervene (the federal level is notoriously deflective toward the local group, unfortunately, because, as was explained to me on a telephone call to a D.C. office, they "we just don't have the manpower to investigate complaints").

So, what appears to have occured is that a certain intermediate group has grown far too unbridled in their presumptuous "rewriting" of existing federal legislation and it has created real harms to me, and others of similar circumstances.

I really need prayer. The negativity is inexplicable, but obvious -- whatever burr under the blanket of this small intermediate group is, it's obviously there but they aren't explaining it but they sure do give themselves away when you see their body language and observe and experience their awful mismanagement of millions of federal dollars.

Please pray for me. I am asking for ongoing prayer through this week, especially.

I am a Christian, a Catholic, and a few local persons have also prayed for me, and, a person who attended with me the meeting of last week is also a Catholic, a very faithful person. Even he commented after the meeting that certain individuals were noticably and oddly unnerved about me, by their very body language.

So, something dark is about. Not in me, but in those who are now affecting me with actions that I find are inspired by it.

I admit to being very confused after reading your request, but my prayers are with you, praying that you will prevail in this situation.

I apologize for being necessarily vague but it would be unfair to the locale and local government involved to name names and be program-specific.

It's a federally legislated area of our society (all states' are recipients through a federal department and the national department provides [is provided with?] a federal Title [legislation that governs delivery and services through the funding to everyone who receives funds through that federal department]). Like Commerce or something like that (only it's not the Department of Commerce).

Anyway, local governments have to administer the delivery of services (and expenditures and behaviors and such) they receive from the federal level and are required to do so by federal Title that governs their operations and such.

It's a local group (local of a degree) that is at issue here, in their manipulation of the Title itself.

And, it's affecting me and my access/use of the Title as is written to be provided under the Title itself. The local group makes interpretations of that legislation (federal Title) and there's little there to modify their behaviors. By the time Congressman is contacted and has had time to at least acknowledge my complaint, the local group will have already "ruled" by whatever process they chose and that'll be that as to me and my access to what the Title provides.

So, I'm asking for prayer for these conditions. Thank you for your prayers on my behalf, they are appreciated.

Yes, Dad was a protestant minister and then converted to Catholicism and was ordained a Catholic Priest after that.

He was a wonderful person, and a wonderful Priest. He passed away two days after Father's Day many years ago and yes, there was a Mass said for him, and a Rosary. Not this year, however, because of some limiting circumstances (not of the spiritual kind). Thanks for asking about him...I still miss him as ever.

I thank you for what you've shared and very much. I will contact you, thanks, again.

I took a time-out here and started a load of dishes in the d.w. and was thinking that all my suffering didn't begin to compare with what Jesus experienced, and that I might try to consider this recent experience as a blessing (as what others have shared here), such that it is a means to draw closer to God and to appreciate more the suffering and gift that Jesus has given us.

So, in that sense, I am blessed.

Prayers up for your special intention. I"m not completely sure, but it sounds like you are fighting corruption - an evil - of sorts in your local government. I will pray that you will prevail in your efforts to right this wrong.

St. Michael the Archangel, protect us in battle...

Yes, my estimation, also. Which is what I was referring to as "dark", earlier. Yes, corruption, and evil.

I have particular faith to and in Saint Micheal the Archangel and about this particular area and problem, I know he will be astute. Thank you to you and all for the prayers to Saint Michael.

BIRDS, My prayers go up for you. We don't need to know the specifics in order to pray for you. We just need to know that there is a need and to ask God to meet that need. God knows your hearts desire! Praying that your needs are met.

Salvation - thank you for the ping.

Blessings,
trussell

If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.

The best advice that I can give you is to pray directly for the people that you dislike. In my experience, this is the absolute best path when personal difficulties arise.

Try to avoid the prayer, "God, please help this person to stop being such an a**hole, so (s)he will stop screwing with me." As much as possible (and I know that it is difficult as all heck), offer a sincere, disinterested prayer to God for that person's well being.

I sometimes find that the only way I can pray for someone in a situation like that without being half-spiteful and filled with self-will is to separate my prayer from the situation entirely. Just pray that they will have a good life; pray that they will be happy; most of all, pray that they will find grace and peace with Jesus Christ. Go to Holy Mass (daily, if possible) and entrust all of your intentions to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts solely for their benefit. Say your favorite novena for them.

Most importantly of all, take all of the merits and satisfactions that accrue due to the patient suffering of this evil, place them into the hands of Our Lady, and ask her to use them as she will for the salvation of those who have done this.

With what I can decipher here, it appears you are feeling oppressed by darkness manifest in the words or deeds of others. With that understanding, I lift you up to God for His peace and blessing and protection and comfort and I also lift up everyone overtaken by darkness, that they may see His Light and hear His voice and come to Him.

Ha, I really understand what you advise. I have been praying for the specific people in this group (actually, the three/four individuals who seem the most troubled), that they can be free from whatever is influencing them that I feel is not from God, and at times I lapse into a very self-focused sorta' perspective, but I do feel at those points that I'm missing the larger picture...so I try to stop what I'm wrongly praying about (as I feel at that time) and then to regroup and contemplate and then I find that I pray for their behalf more than my own and that seems to be where -- as you suggest -- I ought to be going. Because, I was also thinking...well, it's not just me who is being adversely affected here, but many others, and particularly, these people who are acting in quite such dedication to their own egoism.

I don't write that out of a "get them" haughty tone but out of an acknowledgement that what they are doing and why is wrong. But they are proliferating wrongs and it's harming people, and, well...I guess you can tell I still have a ways to go here.

Thank you so much for praying for me and for the practical, perspectual helps.

Well, that brought more than a few tears to my eyes, but of the good kind! I thank you for your prayers, and it is particularly meaningful for me this day to be able to honor my Dad and to still share him with others, as here. Just writing about him today and sharing that love is appreciated.

About that, as I've now grown older than I was when Dad passed into Heaven (I am sure of that), I think back on my insensitivities to him when he was alive, me as younger and completely preoccupied with my own happenings and problems and all, and I've had feelings of real self incrimination about having been such an insensitive daughter.

So, Father's Day...I feel remorseful and grateful all at the same time.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that every prayer in accordance with Your will, will be answered. You would have us wise as serpents and harmless as doves ... we pray for wisdom. You would have us to be kind one to another ... we pray for grace in dealing with others. You would have us to be a reflection of Your love ... we pray that others may see Christ in us. Grant unto Birds all that is needed in this situation ... "ask and ye shall receive." In the Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen ...
