I think the mennonites can drive, as long as their bumpers aren't shiny.

I wish I was able to access some of those photos my family and I took while we were at the Kutztown Festival last month.
I had never seen someone-who wasn't a German tourist-walking around in a "Deutschland" t-shirt before I visited that part of Pennsylvania Dutch country.

Since you pinged me, I reread the thread for a second time. I remember when the original was posted.
Here's hoping you can someday post your pictures to the Web.

Yeah, there are a few interesting ones.
Who knew that there was actually a Kutztown University?!
:0)
They were taken on a digital camera; hopefully, I'll find a way to post them sometime in the near future.

Looking forward to seeing those pics.

I'll keep you posted!
:)
I also have a family reunion tentatively scheduled for the end of September.
Hopefully, I'll be able to find a relative with a digital camera, which will expedite the whole process next time.

Really sad story. I think I saw something about it on television.

Some years ago my wife and I visited the San Blas Islands inhabited by the Kuna Indians. I can't remember what was said about it, but the people were strikingly identical in appearance. The men were perhaps very shy of tourists and were not present, but the women look like they were the same person but possibly at different ages.
I would not doubt that these people choose their mates from among their own tribe and have done so for many generations. I don't recall hearing anything about genetic defects, though.
