Every time we step into any Church -- any Mass -- it is like walking into heaven. Because we are there united with the angels and saints praising our Most Blessed Lord in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.
I was referring to the magnificent interior of this old church - hand painted Stations of the Cross - intricately carved pews, prie dieus, confessionals, etc. A pipe organ with Victorian stenciling. Frescoes of angels that surround the Sanctuary. Statues and religious artifacts that are priceless. All of these contribute to and inspire reverence in us penitent sinners, by contrast to the concrete boxes with exposed steel beams and folding chairs.
