I'm guessing this is another Protester trying to toss some more muck between the groups with no knowledge at all. Pope Benedict isn't asking for the EO to submit -- that would be stupid. He is asking for a return to life before the schism where the Pope would be the first among equals among the Patriarchs. The EO should NOT 'resist' this -- they should stick to their own teachings but first BOTH sides should clear out the political issues before sitting down in an acknowledged council to sort out the dogmatic issues. This will take time, but this MUST happen eventually --> note: I'm talking about both sides talking to each other and sitting in council, I'm not even going to use the word 'unity' except in the spiritual sense.
