Not at all.
ST Paul IN THE MANUAL FOR CHRISTIAN LIFE
says he would that all prophecy.
It's a lie from the pit of hell that it ended.
However, it's not in the best shape and form yet. I believe God is about the business of cleaning His prophets and the modern prophetic movement up. I don't know when He aims to finish. But I don't think He wants it to be the mess it currently is when the end times events really get going hot and heavy.

I find that when I compare what you said with Scripture and with my observations and experience, your statement is thoroughly wrong and UNBiblical.
You also ought to know that the common understanding of prophecy as future telling is
CERTAINLY ONE
of the VERY VALID AND VERY BIBLICAL MEANINGS OF THE TERM. To deny that is to deny basic scholarship and basic dictionary meanings which have been true from the original languages to our time.
It is a deceptive cop-out, rationalization, plain untruth etc to assert that the only meaning of prophecy, to prophecy or to be aprophet is FORTH TELLING of The Gospel.

Watch your language - you don't need to insult people by saying "sucker" - it's just not necessary. It's fine if you don't agree - but the name calling is juvenile!

Fascinating.
I have no compelling desire to even try to prove anything to such an attitude.
The evidence is readily available. Those who truly seek the truth will seek it out.

Yes, prophecy and other miraclous gifts came to an end after the death of the Apostles and of the ones they had personally laid hands on. There is no need for such things today, since we have "that which is perfect"(1 Corinthians 13:10), which is the complete Word of God.

I've lived through the "so-called" prophetic gifts given those who have informed Jack Van Impe and Pat Robertson, among others.
Pat said he was told by God that Y2K was to usher in the Apocalypse, while Jack's maintained several such dates until he's been proven otherwise.
Don't get me started on the Catholic prediction that the end of the world will be here during the lifetime of the Pope who follows this one.
Prophesy must speak of that which supports Scripture. A year with three zeros was never a Scriptural thing, nor are these perverted Bible Code attempts to second-guess God.
I said in my prior letter:
To be fair, "prophesy" also means standing up for God when no one else does.
This is what we have today that will stand regardless of what some wacked-out charlatan may say.
I encourage you, as a fellow Christian, to abide by His word.
To: ConservativeMind
I do abide by His Word to the near best of my ability--including Acts 2; I Cor 12-14.
When will you apply those parts of The Manual routinely in your life?
Do you also judge your life by the same standard you judge others?

He makes fine sense to those of us who believe in end times and the prophetic.

And to those who know that the Bible teaches that prophecies and signs have already ceased, his posts show a lack of understanding of Scripture.

WHAT is your problem? If you don't like this thread, get the he!! off. You're always trying to hijack anything Quix does. YOU are the one who's a sucker, not him.

These things have NOT ceased. I think your teachings show a lack of understanding of Scripture. You need to hear what God is saying to people TODAY as well as yesterday.

1 Corinthians 13:10
"But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."
What was the point of the spiritual gifts such as prophecy and miracles? It was to reveal the will of God to the world. In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul talks of these things(prophecies, tongues, knowledge) as being in part, not the whole. He says in verse 10 that "when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away". The Greek word used for perfect is "teleios". This word denotes the idea of completeness. This is pointing to the complete revelation of God's Will, which is His Word. We now currently have the complete Word of God, so there is no need for these miraculous gifts.

When someone chooses to post, they open themselves up for criticism.
I choose to not stay silent when I notice something wrong. That is why I post.
Now, if you think I am approaching on hijacking Quix's threads, I am truly honored. But in the end, only Truth within my words can do so.
To: jkl1122
The perfect is JESUS, not His Word. I know that's probably contrary to what you've been taught but that's just how it is. There's a definite difference in the way we've all been taught about that. Jesus was the ONLY perfect one.

Since "that which is perfect" is in contrast to "that which is in part", then according to your interpretation of the passage, Christ must have been incomplete or partial, and still is, before His second coming. This, however, makes no sense.
