If "perfect" does not refer to the written Word of God, then what does it refer to?

End Times prophetic vision website has new items today, and here is one of them from

http://www.etpv.org/whatsnew.html

Come Up Higher
Elvi Glass

I am calling you to come higher on my mountain. Run to me and cast aside everything that hinders you. It is coming! The great outpouring you have heard and read about is about to be released. It is coming wave after wave, one after another. It is on it's way. Even now I am giving the command for release of finances, gifts and anointings. The call is going forth. Do you hear it? Are you willing to come up higher on my mountain? Are you willing to pay the price and go all the way with Me?

There is a commotion in heaven. Thousands of angels are ready and waiting in anticipation to be released. There is great anticipation. I am sealing my bondservants, those who have allowed my fire to purify them. Those who have kept their focus on Me even when it was difficult. It is those who have died to self and to the world and they are now ready to come into the fullness of my calling.

Will I find you busy with worldly things or will I find you going about my Father's business?

Dance and rejoice. Dance for the time is near. My bride betrothed to me. The bride adorned with precious jewels. Come!

That is exactly the point.
You have the burdon of proff when you say it is the 'Word of God'. There is nothing to designate that other than conjecture.

No, you claim that it isn't the Word of God, so please tell me what it is.

That is circular reasoning on your part. You have decided what it is with out support for your view. Their are 3 other things that more perfectly meet the qualifications of 'the perfect'.

One Argument is that it is love. When you have perfect love coming out of your being towards others the miraculous will be completely overshadowed. It also fits with the chapter context.

Another is the return of Christ. He is complete (perfect) and when he returns these gifts will cease.

I forgot the other. However, non of the ones that fit the picture include the 'cannon' of completed scripture.

That it is the word of God is complete conjecture. You have built your theology on an assumption.

Lastly, you must answer the question, 'if God were to ask you to speak in tongues, would you?'.

We have skipped over an important point in this discussion. What was the purpose of the miraculous gifts that were given to the Apostles in the 1st Century? If we can define this first, we can have a better understanding of what 1 Corinthians 13:10 actually means. Do you agree?

No I don't agree, due to the fact that we have multiple other referances to tongues in different forms than known languages in scripture. Please read 1 cor 12-14, you will find that limiting this to a known language makes no sense with the instructions given. Their are many people today that are denying the gift of tongues from the filling of the Holy Spirit. There are even some that blaspheme the Holy Spirit by saying that his works are that of Satan.

Here is a question for you?
In Acts one, were their any interpreters present? If you look at the text, you will see, they spoke in an unknown tongue, but the people heard them in thier own lanquage. Could they have been speaking in a non world language, with God interpreting in the mind of those that heard?

The ones that preach the end of gifts have weak arguments and display no faith or guidence from the teaching our Holy Spirit.

And to be perfectly honest, I have not received this gift either. But rulling it out due to tradition and man's teaching leaves you with nothing better than the Catholics.

The purpose of miraculous gifts was to reveal the will of God (Mark 16:20, Hebrews 2:3-4). Is there any need to reveal the will of God today? No, since it has been revealed in His Word, the Bible.

It is not in Acts 1, it is Acts 2, where they began speaking in tongues. And they are not unknown tongues, but other tongues. There is no evidence that they were in a "non-world" language as you suggest.

Yes I agree that it is speculation as to what the tongue was; you cannot definitively state they were known tongues. Yes the signs are to make the will of God known. Do you know the will of God for your life specifically? Have you never asked God for specific directions? My bible state that the believers will lay hands on the sick and they will be healed; the believers will cast out demons, the believers will speak in new tongues. That was not given to the apostles, read it. Mark 11:24. This debate still does not answer the question. When God asks you to speak in tongues, will you? You still have not answered that question. You have forgotten, that I have taught these very things you have perported. In my pride I was right. God answered my pray to humble me. It is a matter of submission not hermeneutics.

Let me lastly give you this.
I seek for you an abundant life of miraculous interaction with the God of creation and His Son our savior. A place of Perfect Peace (Ps 91) which transcends what you have decided to believe. We all must be ready to pass up the sower in our reaping souls for his kingdom. We cannot do that if we have decided to limit God to man's tradition. John 15:5.

The Bible is the final revelation of God. God no longer speaks to individual Christians the way He did in the 1st Century. Praying that God will help you to know what is best in your life is not asking for revelation, it is asking for guidance. There is a huge difference.

The only ones that could lay hands on people and heal or pass on their gifts was the Apostles. Even those who had received gifts from the Apostles could not pass them on to others. Therefore, once the Apostles and those who had been given those gifts passed away, that ability was gone.

I feel I am not reading the same bible you are.
You have not read Mark 11:16-19 recently. It does not say apostles. You are still working from your understanding of scripture that you have been taught. What does John 10:20-24 mean to you? God speaking through tongues or other wise to a believer or a body of believers does not have any thing to do with changing the complete inerrant word of the New or Old Testament. I know people how have miraculously been healed, with medical, and x ray proof because of the laying on of hands. You need to deal with your pride. You have not figured it all out. Just like I have not, but I thought I had.

Ending the miraculous gifts with the apostles means you are redacting the list of gifts in Romans and in I Corinthians. Why would some of that list of gifts be deleted from the church and not others? When you say that prophesy, tongues, healing, working or miracles are no longer valid you must also say that pastor, teacher, administration is also. They are in the same list. How do you explain that Paul tells common Christians to seek the greater gifts, if they were to end? Is the book written to us? Or just to the first century church, personally touched by the apostles? You can’t have it both ways. If you want to start saying one thing is for us and one thing is not for us, where do you stop?
