Sarah Exposes the Reappraisers' Strategy
Stand Firm (Alabama) ^ | 5/05/2005 | Sarah Hey

In a wonderful post over at Stand Firm Mississippi, our good friend Sarah Hey puts the jigsaw puzzle together, showing us the whole picture of the revisionist strategy:
1) hide what they actually believe, while running for various offices and positions -- two or three Louie Crews can function as loud flag-planters, the rest are undercover
2) pass resolutions and canon changes, while all the time stating that the resolutions and canon changes don't actually advance an agenda or mean what they seem to mean, they're just gentle statements of fact -- an example of this is seen so clearly, for instance, in the resolution passed at the last GC stating that same sex blessings are a part of our common life, while all the while claiming that no official action by the church had been taken.
3) at the appropriate time, announce that we "may as well just go on ahead and approve everything officially, since it's a "part of our common life", as stated in previous resolutions" -- so let's pass new changes officially approving of all of these previous un-official changes that we snuck by you while we claimed that it had nothing to do with anything
4) any time the other side becomes organized, tell them that they are just "dividing the church" and ask them to just "focus on mission and ministry" and not be so divisive; the other side is clearly trying to "destroy the church" and are not "real Anglicans"
5) if the other side falls for this "truce", calmly continue advancing the ball up the field, and any time this is noticed, claim that you're not really doing that at all
6) continue running for various offices and positions -- lie if asked what you really believe
7) if other side continues to get organized and active, announce that we haven't dialogued enough and that no action should take place until we all dialogue [Note: dialogue is defined as public, political, fake-debates, set up so that the reappraiser side is well-represented and the reasserter side is not. As in . . . a committee of five, with two revisionists, two moderates-trending-revisionist, one reasserter. That's dialogue. Either side talking with one another over coffee is *not* dialogue, because a political statement can't be staged about such "dialogue". Any "dialogue" not meeting the above criteria . . . isn't really "dialogue" and one must go back to jail and not pass go.
8) Various people now elected to committees and other positions can reveal who they always were and announce that the spirit is doing a new thing.
9) The new thing is officially mandated under canon law. Anyone who resists these mandates clearly isn't a true Anglican. Best for them to leave.
10. Please leave.
11. Also, please be quiet.
12. If you must stay, send in your pledge.
13. Okay, just leave, then.

Nice job, Sarah!
