Christians don,t borrow from eastern mysticism.

You don't get to say what a Christian is or what they do.

A Christian is someone who believes in and proclaims that Jesus Christ is their lord and savior. Nothing else is required. Certainly not YOUR rules.

"What's wrong with meditiative practices, as long as they are to meditate on Jesus (God)?"

Nothing whatsoever. I guess some self appointed people don't believe in prayer if you cross your legs while sitting on the floor. Go figure.

"Prove it. "

I don't need to. It's recorded fact. Just search the internet.

"I'm sorry you don't like some translations of the bible, there are many other than the King James."

I use the NASB translation. I don't use the Living Bible or the Messager.

And, no, I don't believe the best way to spread the gospel is to conduct focus groups to find out what people need. It doesn't fit the "deny yourself and take up your cross" model in my mind.

Aw c'mon Harley. You can do better than that. There's a lot of recorded "facts" on the Internet.

You can increase the size of your...um...part...you can "lose weight now, ask me how"....you've got money coming...all 67 GPRLs (give or take a few) just upgraded to paid member status...

Even if you are right, just because something is "on the Internet" it is not a "recorded fact."

"Prove it. "
"I don't need to". = I can't.
Because the "facts" are opinions or do not exist.

You have lots of OPINIONS on the right and wrong way to worship. Just like everyone else.

Using pagan religions isn't what has happened. So false witness has been given.

Paul at Athens quoted favorably from pagan poets and Titus quoted favorably from pagan prophets concerning Cretans. Both Paul and John quoted from Apochryphal books and some of the Jewish Apocalyptic books that were rejected when the canon was fixed. The question should be is the message or advice true. God can use a donkey or a pagan prophet Balaam or stones to speak His truth.

PDL and PDC humanizes Christianity through the use of psychological profiling.
The Bible is is very clear about human wisdom regarding the natural man.

(1 Corinthians 2:12-16)

Who for example knows a mans innermost self but the man,s own spirit within him?Similarly,no one knows what lies at the depths of God but the spirit of God.
The spirit we have received is not the worlds spirit but God,s spirit, helping us to recognize the gifts he has given us.We speak of these, not in words of human wisdom but in words taught by the spirit thus interpreting spiritual things in spiritual terms.
The natural man does not accept what is taught by the spirit of God.For him ,that is absurdity. He cannot come to know such teaching because it must be appraised in a spiritual way.
The spiritual man,on the other hand, can appraise everything, though he himself can be appraised by no one.
For,"Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.

Using psychology to determine one,s purpose in life or the church is wrong, especially Carl Jungs psychology

I think your interpretations of scripture are incorrect.

Please don't direct me to opinion pieces written by the people who have deceived you as proof of anything.

What, if anything, would you consider as "proof"?

While we're on the subject, prove that the pieces you refer to are "opinion pieces", feel free to use your own standard of "proof" to do so.

Just more from the "Buy my book, not Rick's" crowd. It's all about sales.

And just where in that article did you see the author advertising any book?

I have got to finish my manuscript...

Let us know when you publish, that's one i don't want to miss...[no sarcasm, no joke].

I followed the link to the website. Second link right under the "who we are" section.

I've published an ebook (not theology/religion related). Creative freepers can get it from my website (not posted on my profile page). My other projects run in about 6 different directions, all in various stages of completion. If/when I get one done, I'll let you know.

OOOOkaaayy, i'm going to repeat my question slowly to you, and emphasise the key word.

I find it interesting that you choose protagoras as a user name.
I have studied them all Plato,Pythagoras,Thales,Socrates,Darwin etc...
If they were all alive today they would probably belong to the Theosophical Society which is one of the largest enemies of Christianity.

I,m not accusing you ,but I have written many reports on these people and I would not ever mention them in the same sentence along with Christianity

Lots of people turn to screen names when they run out of useful input.

Oh I knew exactly what you meant. In the excerpt posted above, there's no reference to books for sale. Okay, so you "got me" there.

But, lest I be accused of not reading the entire article, I followed the link. On every page of the website the second link is to books for sale.

That clear enough for ya?

No 'gotcha' involved, at least none from my perspective. It merely appeared to be a non-issue to me in light of the fact that the author did not recommend or mention a book in her article.

That clear enough for ya?

Actually, no. Help me out here. Rick Warren advertising his books on his website="OK", yet these people are "tainted" due to the fact that they advertise books on their site. i don't get it.
