Traditional Anglican ping, continued in memory of its founder Arlin Adams.

FReepmail sionnsar if you want on or off this moderately high-volume ping list (typically 3-7 pings/day).
This list is pinged by sionnsar and newheart.

I wonder if a similar invitation will be extended to the Lutheran World Federation?

Given that its President, ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson evidently felt that presenting a speech at the Liturgical Institute at Valparaiso (in which he urged greater inclusivity and multiculturalism in the liturgy)and presiding over the April 9-11 meeting of the ELCA Church Council (in which a decision was made to advocate ordaining practicing homosexuals in "special circumstances"), and given that his letter of congratulations was a harangue about advancing his own liberal agenda, I'm not very optimistic.

Terrible shame because this year, the 475th anniversary of the Augsburg Confession would be an opportune time to affirm the 20 points of agreement in that document.

I think that Benedict has brilliantly wrapped a carrot and stick into one. While doing the Archbishop a great honor by meeting with him, Rowan must know that he is going to be called onto the carpet for the silliness going on in the Anglican Communion.

When General Wojciech Jaruzelski met with the last Pope his knees were shaking. In this meeting, I bet that the Archbishop will be glad his cassock is covering his.
