I thought "cadal" was "sleep", at least in the W. Highlands. "Suan" must be poetic, like "slumber".
That aside, I know what you mean. Slow to anger.
But she CAN'T be ignorant of all the goings-on since . . . what was it, August of 2003? Ignorance is curable, it ought to have been cured by now.

My MacBain's (Word doc) gives both for "sleep." However, I associate "cadal" with the verb ("Dean cadalan samhach" from the Taladh Americanach), "sua[i]n" with the noun.

That aside, I know what you mean. Slow to anger. Actually, I did mean slow to awareness. There are reasons why one might not want to be fully aware of the situation, to sweep it under the rug... for now.
