Frank? If I were you, I'd forbid Gene Robinson from publicly saying anything about anything at all. Because that airheaded charlatan's really not doing ECUSA any favors:
Planned Parenthood should target "people of faith" to promote abortion rights and comprehensive sex education, the Episcopal Churchs first openly homosexual bishop told a gathering in the District yesterday.
"In this last election we see what the ultimate result of divorce from communities of faith will do to us," New Hampshire Bishop V. Gene Robinson said during Planned Parenthoods fifth annual prayer breakfast.
As a matter of fact, it was "communities of faith" that got George W. Bush reelected, Robbie, since communities of LibProts matter less than squat in the US these days.
"Our defense against religious people has to be a religious defense. ... We must use people of faith to counter the faith-based arguments against us," he said.
It would be much better if you used actual arguments
of faith to counter the faith-based arguments against you. Most of us here in the Christian community aren't impressed just because Howard "YEEEEARRRGHHH!!" Dean slips a Bible verse into his screeds once in a while.
"We have allowed the Bible to be taken hostage, and it is being wielded by folks who would use it to hit us over the head. We have to take back those Scriptures," he said. "You know, those stories are our stories. I tell this to lesbian folk all the time: The story of freedom in Exodus is our story. ... Thats my story, and they cant have it.
Actually, you blithering dolt, it's the story of the Jews, which you're not one of.
"This current administration notwithstanding, the world is not black and white," Bishop Robinson said. "We need to teach people about nuance, about holding things in tension, that this can be true and that can be true, and somewhere between is the right answer. Its a very adult way of living, you know.
"What an unimaginative God it would be if God only put one meaning in any verse of Scripture," he said.
Try out this hypothetical, Robbie. A New Hampshire Episcopalian beats up your boyfriend. You visit him in jail and ask him why he did such a horrible thing. He shoots back at you that you need to learn "about nuance, about holding things in tension," that some think that beating up homosexuals is a bad thing and some think it is a good thing "and somewhere between is the right answer. Its a very adult way of living, you know." As you get up to leave, the guy says to you, "What an unimaginative God it would be if God only put one meaning in any verse of Scripture."
You down with that, Robbie?
"I know, in the end, that Im going to heaven, and so are you," [Robinson] said. "You and I can do this work no matter how hard it gets, because we know were going home."
Counting your chickens before they're hatched, I see. But before you start thinking about how you're going to decorate one of your Father's mansions, kick this one around for a while, Robbie:
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity(Matthew 7:21-23).
It's official. Gene Robinson should be tossed from the House of Bishops and excommunicated even if he suddenly decides he's not really a homosexual and returns to his wife. And he would be, too, if ECUSA were a Christian church.
FYI..C-span recorded his comments, and re-broadcast it several times over the weekend..I caught a few snippets....It should be on their website, if anyone wants to search for it..or post a direct link...regards
Great post about a horrible person.
I guess Episcopalians could tell us a lot about sex education, but PETA might start protesting our churches,
It took me several times rereading this to see if I understood what this guy (er, gal-I just don't know) was confessing. Sounds like he's admitting he isn't a "person of faith" and wishes to recruit persons of faith to me.
just how low can Vickie Gene go? First he says Jesus was gay and now he's promoting infanticide. Well I guess if one is going to Hell anyways, you might as well pull out all the stops along your journey there.
*** vomit ***
That's like Hitler having a Bar Mitzvah for his Hitler Youth.
"...I never knew you: depart from me..."
The most frightening prospect I can imagine, and one that apparently VGR isn't the least bit concerned about. What an arrogant ass!
I consider it all the time and sinner though I may be, and there's no doubt about that, I'm a piker by comparison. Why? Because whatever else I may be guilty of, I've never denied the truth of Scripture or the sovereignty of my Lord. And I believe that to be true of most of us. But not him, based on the things he's said and done and continues to do.
I'm not judging the man, mind you. I'm just using the eyes God gave me for their intended purpose.
