I address this to real Catholic Freepers, and I am happy to greet friendly Anglicans and Orthodox Freepers.

Terri Schindler's murder because of the decree of the State and the inaction of the State means our sister in Christ will likely die a martyr because of the Culture of Death.

If and when this premeditated murder is completed, I would like us all to rally faithful Catholics everywhere to call upon the Church at every level to acclaim Terri as

"Theresa Marie Schindler, Martyr for the Gospel of Life"

If in time, Holy Mother Church will remember the ancient custom and acclaim the martyred woman a Saint by virtue of her martyrdom -- all the better.

Let not the defiled name of "Schiavo" live on in this, but let the most honored name of "Schindler" -- honoured because of another Schindler's bravery in the Second World War -- let her birth name "Schindler" be remembered for ever among us.

The first saint that came to my mind in response is St. Maximilian Kolbe, who lived for more than two weeks after being sentenced to death by starvation, and only dying after receiving a lethal injection.

My hope in time is that Terri will be acclaimed the Martyr of the Gospel of Life, and that all of the aborted children will one day be seen as martyrs of the Culture of Death; then, like the Holy Innocents of Bethlehem, may they be likewise called the Holy Innocents of the Gospel of Life.

The opposition is to the Culture of Death and its black-flowering during the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. But the emphasis must be on the victory of the Christ the Lord and King of the Universe and his Gospel of Life.

I do not think that any of us Catholics will forget Theresa Marie Schindler Schiavo, ever.

She is a suffering soul who has taught us a great lesson and no suffering is meaningless... she has forced us to confront just how much we really do love our brothers and sisters. The line has been drawn and it transcends politics and even religion - it goes to what is written in your heart - some of us know why it is written in our hearts and some of us don't, but we know with certainty that no human being should be starved and dehydrated in order to cause their death.
