Jewish fanatics planning to storm Aqsa Mosque next month
Mar 8, 2005, 11:23
Ramallah - The Aqsa foundation for the maintenance of the Islamic holy shrines underlined that 10,000 Jewish fanatics were now gearing up for collectively breaking into the holy Aqsa Mosque next month so as to offer Jewish rituals in the holy Islamic site.
The foundation said that a Jewish extremist dwelling in a settlement near Nablus city was the one who instigated the fanatics to arbitrarily storm the Mosque on 10/4/2005, and indicated that the settlers started distributing posters in this respect in other settlements.
"The Aqsa Mosque belongs to the Jewish people. Indeed, it's our most sacred place. Around 70,000 Jews individually entered the Mosque in the past year. And now we seek through this campaign to get some 10,000 Jews simultaneously enter the site," the foundation quoted the fanatic Jew as saying.
Israeli media sources underscored that the Jewish fanatic groups encouraging the construction of the third alleged temple would join that vicious campaign.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib, vice chairman of the Islamic Movement in the green line, said that the Jewish campaign was encouraged by the Israeli police that used to allow Israeli extremists an access into the holy site.
He held the Israeli government in general and the Israeli police in particular fully responsible for the disastrous consequences that might result from the Jewish trespass on the Mosque.
Sheikh Al-Khatib highlighted that the storming of one of the Muslims' most sacred shrines wasnt only planned by the Jewish extremists, but rather it was secretly plotted by the Tel Aviv government itself, and noted that the Israeli authorities had already declared that some rockets were stolen from army camps, which could be used in targeting the holy Aqsa Mosque.

Bump!
Nasty right wingers. And accurately reported by the Arab press.
I wouldn't hold my breath for this to happen either.
Easy target, and blame it on the right-wing Jews for a twofer!
FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel ping list.

WARNING: This is a high volume ping list
OMG they're GOING TO PRAY!!!!!
The foundation quoted a un-named Jewish fanatic who said "The Aqsa Mosque belongs to the Jewish people. Indeed, it's our most sacred place. Correct me I'm wrong but isn't the location of the Dome of the Rock considered to be Judaism's most sacred place? After all, this is the location where the 1st and 2nd Temples were, right? The al-Aqsa Mosque is located to the south of the Dome of the Rock...although admittedly the mosque is located on the Temple Mount.
Anyone?
What you are seeing is a fruitless entanglement of those engaged in the bloodline theology of the old (and dead) covenant. Bloodline theology is anti-Christ whether practiced by skinheads or semites.
If these people would embrace their Savior, we wouldn't have to worry about how to handle those who blow up buses or seriously discuss sacrificing animals at a destroyed temple.
If the site of Aqsa is as I understand it, it is on Temple Mount. And it is historically their most sacred location.
Why are you relying on a quote made up by MoHAMeden kooks?
I know of no traditional Jewish authority that holds that Al-Aqsa is the site of the relevant part of the Temple. That would be located certainly near, but perhaps not in, the Dome of the Rock.

Psalm 125:2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even FOR EVER!
Not that the cult of Muhammad would ever agree to it....... But I recently read that the Jewish Temple could be rebuilt on it's old location on the Temple Mount without the Dome of the Crock being demolished. That there is room for both
One proponent of that theory is someone I know personally - gadfly archaeologist Vendyl Jones. But as the entire Temple Mount is forbidden to non-Jews (which will be enforced if a Temple is rebuilt there), there would be no point in allowing it to stand. Possibly it could be moved and re-assembled elsewhere.
Fascinating guy. Here he refers to rebuilding the Jewish temple.

Vendyl has spent his whole life in preparation for this moment in history that will set into motion the wheels that will result in the fulfillment of Amos 9:11-12 which reads,
"In that day, I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: that they may possess the remnant of mankind. Thus saith HaShem, upon them, the gentiles that are called by my name, that doeth this!"
uhh...
I hate to break it to you, but that's not what the text of Amos 9:11-12 says:
11. On that day, I will raise up the fallen Tabernacle ['sukkah' not temple] of David, and I will close up their breaches, and I will raise up its ruins, and build it up as in the days of yore.
"On that day" - And, after all these will befall him, that day will come, the day destined for the redemption, and thereon
"I will raise up the fallen Tabernacle of David" - [Targum] Jonathan renders: the kingdom of the house of David.
12. In order that they inherit the remnant of Edom and all the nations because My Name is called upon them, says the Lord Who does this.
"In order that they inherit [I.e, in order that] Israel [inherit] the remnant of Edom".. etc.
"because My Name is called upon them [the Jews]" - Heb. [asher], like [ki] 'because'
But I know Vendyl takes Tabernacle/sukkah to mean the 'Mishkan' which the KJV translates 'Tabernacle', and Vendyl takes the phrase 'gentiles called by my name' to mean 'Noahides', i.e., HIM and his group who will find the hidden Mishkan (the original built by Moses) in their digs!
I'm not understanding your point.
Are you saying that the Temple Mount area, not the Mosque itself, is the holiest place in Judaism?
The Al-Aqsa Mosque is on the grounds of the Temple Mount, but is not on the site of the Temple building itself. This area has a much lesser degree of holiness.
The Dome of the Rock, which I understand is a shrine and not really a mosque, is much nearer the site of the Altar and Holy of Holies. This Altar and Holy of Holies area is the most sacred place, but its exact location is a matter of dispute, though there is little doubt the Dome is much closer to it than the Mosque.
Beyond this much, I'm over my head ;D
There are great insights at

It's not a mosque but the loony tune Palestinians were making the Temple Mount into a series of mosques until their excavations where halted. Trying to compete with Mecca with its two holy mosques, the holiest in Islam

At this hallowed site, known in Arabic as Haram al Sharif, the 9th Caliph, Abd al-Malik, built the great Dome of the Rock between 687 and 691. Besides its association with the `Night Journey' of Muhammad, Jerusalem was also chosen as the site of this first great work of Islamic architecture for political reasons. For a brief period between 680 and 692 Mecca had become the capital of a rival caliphate established by Abd Allah ibn Zubayr who controlled most of Arabia and Iraq. Following the retreat of the Umayyad army from its siege of Mecca the construction of the Dome was undertaken in order to discourage pilgrimages to Mecca. Often incorrectly called the Mosque of Umar, the Dome of the Rock, known in Arabic as Qubbat As-Sakhrah, is not a mosque for public worship but rather a mashhad, a shrine for pilgrims. Adjacent to the Dome is the Al-Aqsa Mosque wherein Muslims make their prayers. Designed by Byzantine architects engaged by the Caliph, the Dome of the Rock was the greatest monumental building in early Islamic his
Really, no matter what, it's always all the fault of the Jews - both the issue itself as well as the Palestinian reaction to it. They remind me of my little sister growing up, who would pummel my brothers and shout at the same time "STOP HITTING ME!!!"
Yes, I've read that too. Here is an article which lists possible different locations for the original Jewish Temple:
http://www.templemount.org/theories.html
The article is a little long but it does indicate that the location of the original Temples may not be where the Dome of the Rock is now located.
In an ideal world, it'd be great to see the new Temple and the Dome of the Rock exist side by side on the Temple Mount but the Moslems would never allow it and neither would the Jews.
