I had a weird dream of that type too, it was the future, I must have been in my mid to late 40's (I'll be 39 this year) and my father must have been a little past 70. My father and I were fighting some force, maybe we were in a civil war and/or fighting some sort of UN or EU troops. I don't know who. I had an M-1 Garand, my father had a double barrelled shotgun. We were trading fire with some of those UN/EU troops and we thought it was best to get out of there. I said to my father, "if we make it to my (1994 Ford) Explorer, we should be fine," as we were running and almost out of breath. I also remember I was married to a Christian lady and had a couple of kids, she was in her early 20's. I woke up after that in a cold sweat.Yes scary. My version of the dream I had a 12 guage semi-auto with 8 shells (do not recall which brand but it was black with a heat-shield over the barrel and a tactical flashlight), my dad had an AR-15. I woke up just as I was going to let the lead fly at one of the enemy troops.

I've seen one like that called a Franci SPAS-12, I think it is made in France or Italy, I'm not sure. I'm also into role playing games, again of the post apocalyptic type such as Twilight: 2000 and The Morrow Project so me besides being a bit of a gun enthusiast, I like to keep up with firearms for gaming. One of my online Twilight: 2000 buddies keeps a list of them on his site at

You know what is scary, I'm not the only one with dreams like that as you just brought up. Usually, I don't tell anyone this dream except my close friends and family who really understand the gravity of the situation but since it has been brought up here, I decided to spill the beans. I remember waking up with a bad case of acid reflux with my cold sweat. That is the scariest dream I ever had.
My 90 year old grandmother gets into things like these where she sees omens in the sky and so on, one time she saw something the day before JFK died and a cross in the sky prior to Desert Storm in 1990/91. She took a picture of it. I guess my love of the paranormal, "Art Bell" stuff comes form her. B-)
A side note, "Twilight: 2000" is a role playing game where in the late 1990's/early 2000's, we and the Soviets have World War III, now "alternate history," but the game was written in 1984. "The Morrow Project" is where teams are frozen and supposed to wake up 3 to 5 years after whatever happens to help rebuild the USA but end up waking up 150 to 200 years later.
