Knitting A Conundrum

Please join me in prayer for John Paul II. I am asking that we don't bicker, just pray on this thread. God bless.

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You. Allow your healing hand to heal your servant, John Paul. Touch his soul with Your compassion for others. Touch his heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch his mind with Your wisdom, that his mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring him health in body and spirit that he may serve You with all his strength. Touch gently this life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on the sick and dying.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

O Lord,
Giver of light,
Giver of life,
You who hold us in the palm of your hand,
Help us Lord
to love you even when it is uncomfortable,
even when it's not easy,
even when it will cause us a seeming loss.
Help us Lord
to grow close to you,
to the person who cares most,
who guides our steps if we let him,
who longs to bring us home.
Help us to know
something about the depths of your love,
the deeps of your mercy,
the willingness to be there
in every sorrow,
in every sickness,
in every weakness,
in every loss.
O Lord,
help us to have grateful hearts,
to give thanks because we love you,
to give thanks because of your care,
this day and always,
Amen.

Prayer for the Pope from Catholicity

Dear Father in Heaven,

As brothers and sisters in Christ, we ask you to heal
our Holy Father.

He is the rock upon which you build your Church; make
him strong again.

Do not allow the jaws of death to prevail against him.

He is all yours Mary, and all that he has is yours; his
life is in your hands, now and always.

On the eve of his feastday, we call upon the powerful
intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, and
patron for the healing of maladies of the throat to help
heal Pope John Paul II. Amen.

O Lord our God, Who by word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to this Your servant Karol and cure him of every sickness of which he is grieved; lift him up from his bed of pain, and send down upon him Your great mercy, and if it be Your Will, give to him health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to Father, and to Son, and to Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

Last night when I read that he was taken to hospital, I immediately prayed that God would extend his life. I went to Mass on my lunch hour today specifically to offer it for his well being and continued life.

It goes without saying that God's Will Be Done, I don't have to pray for that, so I prayed that God would grant the Pope more time, because I know without a doubt, that that's exactly what Pope John Paul's wish is too.

I'm with him and his staunch defense of a Culture of Life, one of those very precious lives is his own, and may it continue to be spared, and may he have many, many more days to share with us.

ROME (Reuters) - Medical tests on Pope John Paul have given satisfactory results and the Pontiff is expected to stay in hospital for one week, Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said on Thursday.

"The Pope is well rested. He rested well all night and the laboratory tests that have been carried out have given satisfactory results," Navarro-Valls told reporters after visiting the Pope in Rome's Gemelli hospital.

Asked when the 84-year-old Pope would leave hospital, Navarro-Valls said: "It will be up to the doctors to decide, however in my experience we're talking about seven days or a week."

So far, so good. But please let us keep praying. Even being in the hospital can be risky sometimes nowadays from the danger of staph infections and such.
