I do not sneer at Christianity. I have been ministry for over 30 years. I simply do not believe these prophecies.
According to Deuteronomy 13, every prophecy of a prophet must come true or else that person is not a true prophet.

Actually, a few times, OT star prophets predicted things which did not come true or did not appear to come true precisely as predicted.
I think it was Samuel who told Saul that the kingdom would be torn from him that day etc. We can say that spiritually it was--but it was many years later that it really came true such that people could recognize it as coming true.
Yes, prophecying in God's Name is serious business. And there ARE many false prophets about with half truths and out right deceptions and lies.
But I don't have any personal need to knee-jerk trounce on people who are growing into their gifting. Even prophets don't wake up on a Monday morning suddenly perfect in their gifting and it's application--especially those who haven't been on the back side of the desert for 40 years having their flesh and hearing purified.
