Read St. Augustine's "On Free Choice of the Will".

Your first post here was this:

OK, you yahoos. It is me, Gunny Bob. I heard from a brother Marine that my once good name was being sullied on this site.

I am pleased to see (read?) that I amuse you with my antics on FOX.

Yes, I am also Gunny Bob on 630 KHOW in Denver. I guess now we know...pretty stupid thing to post, if I do say so myself.

GunnyBob is not a Troll. I am sure he is voicing the questioning of many people looking at this tragedy. He is probably getting some ideas for his talk show here in Denver.

He warned us of earthquakes and other disasters. He set the ball rolling.

there's a fellow freeper whose son has cancer and has asked for prayers and you're whining about what YOU blame God for.

God doesn't owe anyone an apology or answer for that matter. Grow up and understand that we are in for worse then this... He said it would come.

I would watch my attitude and what I say. God doesn't owe YOU anything. You owe God for salvation.

And in an unfriendly manner... you ARE an arrogant and pretentious ass.

Granting SOLELY for the sake of argument that God owes ANYONE an apology: Why does he owe YOU an apology? Did you lose someone close to you in the tsumani?

Or maybe there is no God and it's just one of those things.

On a personal note, I believe that all those innocent children who were killed are in a much better place.

Maybe God was sending us all a message that we could be gone tomorrow. Kiss your kids, hug your spouse and live each day as if it were the last.

I know I am.

My heart goes out to you, my FRiend. It's hard looking at something this big and not being angry. Natural disasters are a fact of life. This was a biggie, but God didn't cause it and we don't know how many people He moved to just the right place that saved them.

If God killed them, how come Bush and Haliburton are getting all the blame?

This is not God's doing. The earth is designed in a certain way and works in a certain way. It is the folly of man not understand its workings and abide by the rules. Warning or not the word should have gotten out that there had been an earthquake and due to its tremendous magnitude and location people should have realized that the possiblity of a tsunamis was high. God gave man a brain, it is not his fault those in positions that require brain usage chose not to.

It is an age old question: "Why do bad things happen to good people?"

The answer is simply that there is no answer. There have been tradgedies, pain and suffering for as long as we have memory. It is not in our capacity to know why.

The better question is why did it take this event for you to ask? What will you do about it?

(hint: it has something to do with prayer and good deeds...)

It's an honest question. It is, in fact a "begged" question. A fair demand. What soul would not have at least a glimer of that demand upwelled in their heart on such catastrophe?

Like I have said before, God will throw you under the wheels of the bus for his own reasons. Maybe in 500 years something will happen that was the result of these deaths.

Me? I have learned just to keep a low profile and be vewy vewy quiet. He does have a mean streak.

Read the Book of Job.

I see. God DID cause the earthquake that killed over a hundred thousand people.

If you are reading this, God, I require an explanation...and an apology.

Actually, he knew you were going to write that.

Read Genesis...specifically the part about Adam and Eve and the Serpent. It might give you a starting point.

As for the apology...I think you've got a surprise on the way. The really cool thing is that the price has already been paid.

Well, I will not pretend to give you God's reasons why such tragedy happened, but I will try to explain in the simpliest terms I can.

Sometimes life is rotten, and God permits it. In every case, from a broken arm to a broken heart, He is going to bring good out of it. But if you respond to this suffering with determination, bravery, and the love of Jesus, you can bring even greater good out of it.

Hang in there. God loves you and all the poor souls who lost their lives out of this tragedy.
