Question to Christians From a Jewish Friend
December 9, 2004 | Michael Katz

Posted on 12/08/2004 11:08:38 PM PST by Mike10542

Hey fellow freepers, having been swept up in the battle of conservatives first liberals and believers in God vs. non-beleivers I clearly have chosen the right side here (hence me writing on Free Republic). The alignment of Jews like myself and many fellow Christians is one that I feel is very necesary to win the war against evil and have peace in our time. Although I choose to ignore all the leftists and others who try to break up this loving partnership by saying "They are only on your side becuase they want the Jews in control of Jerusalem so Christ returns," I am looking to explore what the Bible really teaches about the Jewish fate from the Christian perspective. It is hard to find what the majority opinion is because the internet is, well, the internet. What I have made out so far is that during rapture I beleive 2/3's of Jews are killed, but one third survive. So my questions are:

1) What do the 2/3's of Jews die from (war, just happens????)

2) What happens to the remaning 1/3 of Jews after they survive?

3) Do any of this remaining 1/3 of Jews make it past the final judgement of God (some interpertations say no, others say the remaining Jews are allowed to pass once accepting God and I think Christ)

I truly beleive in my Jewish fate as I have been raised Jewish, but my mom is Christian. So each religion I respect and believe are good. Ultimately, I hope us Jews and Christians both make it together to the promised land (and only the Muslims are sent to hell!)

Thanks for all your answers. Also, feel free to direct me to anywhere where I can learn more about this subject.

Trinitarianism has nothing to do with any alleged rejection of Judaism.

Sure it does. Do you accept Judaism? I seriously doubt it. If you believe a man can't be God, join them.

Jews recognize that God manifests Himself by His Wisdom, Word and Spirit (Trinitarian manifestation of God).

This is extemely educational. I'm 50 years old and just now found out Jews are trinitarians.

Christianity redefined Judaism within Judaism.

Aint that the truth.

St. Paul certainly considered himself a Jew.

So What? And the bloodthirsty Constantine considered himself a Christian.

Christianity was rejected by Judaism, not the other way around.

I think there was plenty of rejection on both sides. Nontheless, spoken like the true supercessionist that you are.

So how did Moses see GOD? how did he hear GOD? GOD created man right? in who's image?

Not understanding how these questions pertain to what we're discussing. Please explain.

There is no such trinitarian theology in Judaism. By this reasoning, one could claim that each of the ten sefirot of kabbalah mysticism was a distinct person of the Godhead. But this is taking literally what is intended figuratively. In Jewish theology, for example, the shekinah, or Holy Spirit, is simply the manifest presence of God in the world; it is not a separate person within the divine Being. To render it in Christian theological terms, Jews believe in one hypostasis and one ousia.

The guy who climbed the sycamore tree to see Jesus was a serious sinner, probably more than most, and Jesus chose to invite him to his home that evening. I would like to think that Jesus would come to my home, serious sinner that I am.

Thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite stories. I'm sure you are doing fine. If I am wrong we can always stand on the head of a bishop in the river of fire. :-)

Oh I had a taste of that place. I seriously hope to avoid it. And I wouldn't like anyone having to experience that eternally, even a bad bishop. We must pray for God's mercy for sinners and those in serious error (could be me for all I know), I don't care what religion they are.

I hope you have a blessed Christmas and New Year.

The way I wrote that sentence, it sounds like Jesus had a home. I garbled that part of it up, but the language police either didn't notice or gave me a pass :-).

The only problem is people that are Jews, and Gentiles that deny GOD by being Atheists dabbling in the occult, I think Orthodox Judaism has a special relationship with GOD but the world is very secular and secular jews need Jesus or go back to Orthodox Judaism..

You say GOD could not manifest himself into the image of Man? that being said In Genesis it says GOD created Man in his own image? He did not create animals in his own image

Has anyone seen GOD yes Moses if GOD spoke to Moses in a form of a burning bush GOD certainly can come from heaven by the power of the holy spirit to be the Son of Man.

I believe there is only 1 GOD who created this world but he encompasses many things one being a human being nothing is impossible with GOD I think you can agree with that statement...

One other thing people that are Christians or Jews that do not follow the tenants of that faith have no place with GOD a Christian cannot say I accepted Jesus in my heart therefore I can continue to steal... or someone saying I am a Jew I don't need to study TORAH or live by it, I already have a special place with GOD.

Our Father in heaven does not tolerate hypocrisy or in sincere hearts from anyone....

You speak of what you know not. Only Orthodox Jews have relationship with God? Reform & Conservative Judaism are secular Jews?

I say Orthodox Judaism because they do not adhere to the secular world. IMHO if you are a Jewish individual and you say it's A-Okay to be a practicing homosexual you will not hold any special place with GOD unless you repent and ask Jesus to forgive you or adhere to the truth about Judasim in Torah....

Doesn't make sense. I guess you can say that we're all Messiah's and God's in flesh using your definition of "image".

Has anyone seen GOD yes Moses if GOD spoke to Moses in a form of a burning bush GOD certainly can come from heaven by the power of the holy spirit to be the Son of Man.

Thats funny my Torah says no man has seen God and lived. Your problem is that you believe what Christians describe as "Theophanies" are God himself. Thats not what Jews have beleived for 4,000 years.

I believe there is only 1 GOD who created this world but he encompasses many things one being a human being nothing is impossible with GOD I think you can agree with that statement...

Don't think so....

Deuteronomy 13

1If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,

2And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;

3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

4Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

5And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

I know plenty of Reform and conservative Jews who believe Homosexuality viotlates Torah. again you know not of what you speak.

I said Orthodox Judaism is the only branch of Judaism that strictly forbids Homosexuality, reform and conservative are or have more liberal views on keeping a Kosher home or sexual preference and morality.

FYI:
Jesus Christ was an Orthodox Jew and did not hold any liberal views when addressing TORAH....
