This CD collection of Luther's hymns is on my Christmas list. I've heard lots of good things about it.

This is an impressive list of hymns, most of which Luther wrote, some of which he translated, etc.:

Ein feste Burg
God the Father, Be Our Stay
Come, God Creator, Holy Ghost
A New Song Now Shall Be Begun
Our Father, Who from Heaven Above
Come Holy Ghost
Happy Who in God's Fear Doth Stay
If God Were Not Beside Us Now
In the Very Midst of Life
We Praise, O Christ, Your Holy Name
All Glory Be to God Alone
These Are the Holy Ten Commands
O Lord, Look Down from Heaven, Behold
To You We Pray, God the Holy Ghost
From Depths of Woe I Cry to Thee
My Bride, the Church, Is Dear to Me
Jesus Christ, Our Mighty King
Lord God, We Sing Your Praise
You Want to Live Your Life Aright
Savior of the Nations, Come
Dear Christians, One and All, Rejoice
Grant Peace, We Pray, in Mercy, Lord
We All Believe in One True God
Isaiah, Mighty Seer, in Days of Old
The Unwise Tongue of Man May Say
Lord, Keep Us Steadfast in Your Word
May God Bestow on Us His Grace
To Jordan Came the Christ, Our Lord
In Peace and Joy I Now Depart
O Lord, We Praise Thee
Now Praise We Christ, the Holy One
From Heaven Came the Angels Bright
This Body in the Grave We Lay
Why Would Foe Herod and His Horde
Christ Jesus Lay in Death’s Strong Bands
True God from All Eternity
From Heaven Above to Earth I Come
I Shall Not Die
A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

I could only find the beginning of TonyRo76's Lutheran Ping List (up through boilerfan and BQ91). If someone has the whole list and can issue the ping, this thread should be of interest to them.

Actually, it's almost 500 years old: Martin Luther's music.

I've read very little about Luther, but I bought the movie yesterday, and it was great.

Has anyone else seen it?
