"now it is in the process of manufacturing one for itself, an ecumenical religion whose worship is directed to a vague, all-purpose "god" who so far remains rigorously undefined so as to be acceptable to all, even to the members of the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. The rebellion is therefore not against religion or deity as such, but specifically against the God who told us exactly who He is -- the one almighty Blessed Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Ghost, Who out of pure love, created us out of nothing and sent His beloved Son to redeem us and rule over us both here and hereafter as Christ the Universal King."
Novus ordinarians are unlikely to ever hear stuff like this - not even on EWTN.
For example: She in her "Lucifer's Primacy" (now published by "The REMNANT"; previously published by "Veritas" and prior to that, I suspect, by "Big Rock Papers" in the 1970's), she quotes from an alleged "prophecy" by the 5th Century St Nilus that "Antichrist... would 'produce miracles and fantastic signs. He will also give depraved wisdom to an unfortunate man so that he will discover a way by which one man can carry on a conversation with another from one end of the earth to the other. At the same time men will also fly through the air like birds and descend to the bottom of the sea like fish...'" etc.
Now, the same alleged "prophecy" is carried in many deluded websites, commencing (with what Hertz omitted!) "After the year 1900, towards the middle of the twentieth century..."
That the alleged "prophecy" may be deduced from several facts:
The "old" Catholic Encyclopedia entry on St Nilus quotes his works and mentions that some works attributed to him are spurious.
NONE of the websites carrying his alleged "prophecy" (nor Solenge Hertz) give the name of an original document from St Nilus for verification!
At the time of St Nilus (d. 430) there were NO CALENDARS which counted the years from Anno Domine. It was not until about 100 years AFTER the death of St Nilus that Dionysius Exiguus (see entry in the old Catholic Encyclopedia) "introduced the use of the Christian era according to which dates are reckoned from the Incarnation." Furthermore, the AD Calendar didn't really catch on until the time of St Bede (c. 751) So! The concept of St Nilus talking about the year 1900 or the 20th Century is laughable!
On the other hand, the Orthodox (generally) attribute a prophecy (which mentions the year 1917) but which is quite different to the Hertz/Apparitionist/Schismatic version. They attribute a "prophecy" to St Nilus the Myrrhstreamer (or Myrrhgusher) (d.1651) who post-humously gave a "prophecy" to another monk at Mt Athos in 1817.
However, the Orthodox apply that "prophecy" to the post 1917 Bolshevik Russian scene.
In any event - nothing should be taken as "gospel" unless it is approved by the Church - and even the, any Private Revelation is not bound to be believed by any of then Faithful.
water, the primordial substance on which both natural and supernatural life depend, is being superseded by electricity ... Divinely created natural substances like wood, stone, fibers and leathers are giving way increasingly to artificially produced plastics of every description.
LOL! How horrifying - electricity and plastic.
the rise of a global world government which takes its authority not from heaven above, but from man below. Its first visible manifestation was the United States of America, the first human government constituted autonomously under no God, but only by the authority of "We the people."
But if by this name ["Americanism"] are to be understood certain endowments of mind which belong to the American people, just as other characteristics belong to various other nations, and if, moreover, by it is designated your political condition and the laws and customs by which you are governed, there is no reason to take exception to the name. (Leo XIII, Testem benevolentiae)
I'll take Leo XIII over Solange Hertz any day, thanks.
". . . you [the United Nations] organize brotherly collaboration among peoples. In this way a system of solidarity is set up, so that lofty civilized aims may win the orderly and unanimous support of all the family of peoples for the common good and the good of each individual. This aspect of the United Nations is the most beautiful; it is its most truly human aspect; it is the ideal of which mankind dreams on its pilgrimage through time; it is the world's greatest hope...."

Do you believe that plastic, electricity, and the US Constitution are evil?
No, no, and yes.
How do you reconcile this with the words of Leo XIII?
if, moreover, by it is designated your political condition and the laws and customs by which you are governed, there is no reason to take exception to the name ["Americanism"].
"Americanism", at that time, did not allow murder of the unborn by invoking Constitutional rights of the Mother and not the child.
"Americansism", at that time, did not allow sodomy by invoking one's "right to privacy" now accorded by the Constitution.
There is no constitutional right to sodomy or murder.
Ask Planned Parenthood and the US Supreme Court.
Solange Hertz is the Michael Savage of Roman Catholicism.
Legal analysts said the ruling enshrines for the first time a broad constitutional right to sexual privacy, and its impact would reach beyond Texas and 12 other states with similar sodomy laws applied against the gay and lesbian community, and into mainstream America.
Plop!
PUAR.
Squawk!!
Could you translate my tagline? I'd hate to think it says, "Close cover before striking," or something else dumb.
Thanks for your help!
