yes

How do you reconcile this with the words of Leo XIII?

if, moreover, by it is designated your political condition and the laws and customs by which you are governed, there is no reason to take exception to the name ["Americanism"].

"Americanism", at that time, did not allow murder of the unborn by invoking Constitutional rights of the Mother and not the child.

"Americansism", at that time, did not allow sodomy by invoking one's "right to privacy" now accorded by the Constitution.

Leo XIII was wrong about at least one thing. He thought that if French Catholics "rallied to the Republic," they would be able to take control of the government, turn it away from secularism, and maybe even eventually restore the monarchy. Obviously, this is not what happened; over a century later, the French government remains one of the most anti-clerical in Europe, as illustrated most recently when priests were barred from visiting schools when wearing their cassocks.

He should have recognized that the French Republic is built on the murders of Their Majesties King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette and the other innocent victims of the Terror; therefore it is inherently evil. No Catholic or conservative can accept it. The only legitimate government for France is a Catholic Monarchy. Vive le Roi!
