We all worship allah!
Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles, Louisiana ^ | November 2004 | Bishop Braxton

If you accept monotheism, the belief that there is only one God, you realize that Yahweh, The God of Israel, Abba Father, the God of Jesus Christ and Allah the God of Islam is the SAME God, since there is only one God. Judaism does not have God, Christianity does not have God, Islam does not have God. If the God in whom we believe IS God, then we do not have God. God has us!

That is better than I usually get. Usually, people insist that there is only one way to worship, and it's theirs.

I'm reminded of the old joke about two churches of the same denomination (fill in yoour favorite one to tease.) Both were seeing greatly diminishing attendance and someone asked why tehy didn't just merge into one strong church.

"We could never do that," came the reply. "They sing three hymns and we only sing two."

If God is universal, unlimited, Omnipresent, infinite, then there can only be one God. If there is only one God, then aren't all Gods the same God? But we divide over the most meaningless distinctions.

'Allah' is more of a generic word for God, as is 'God' in English or 'Elokim' in Hebrew. The Hebrew word translated in the KJV as 'The Lord' is, by contrast, very specific.

So the word 'allah' was used by some semitic speakers, Christians as well as Jews, long before Mo Ham Head. The 'moon god' story might be based on spelling / pronunciation confusion.

Find a native Arabic-speaking Christian and ask him to translate 'God' into Arabic.

You are talking philosophy. Christianity isn't the Neoplatonism of Plotinus or Proclus, although it sounds like you are a fan of Plotinus' "The Enneads." I can recommend both the MacKenna and Armstrong translations for anyone who is interested, unless one can read the original Greek (included in the Armstrong translation.)

I don't know how you characterize your belief: Neoplatonism, Unitarianism, Universalist, Syncretism, Indifferentism. It doesn't matter what you call it. It isn't Christianity.

But we divide over the most meaningless distinctions.

Of course we divide over distinctions because they are not meaningless. This is where we part company. Those distinctions are most important. There is a concreteness to Christianity that distinguishes it from all other religions. That is it's uniqueness. If it doesn't appeal to you, then by all means do not be a Christian. What you believe isn't Christianity. As long as you leave outside the door step of the Church, you are free to believe as you please.
