I read the Book of Job this weekend, and I have a question regarding the reasoning behind Job's trials. I believe that God is all-powerful and all-knowing, which includes knowing what we are going to do. Going on this premise, my question is why did God, knowing the outcome, subject Job to all that he went through? Why did He allow satan to do the things he did to Job? The only thing I can think of, was to prove a point to Job?
Wouldn't God know what satan was going to do also?
There's an old Buddhist saying:
"A broken clock is right twice a day."
Well maybe its not Buddhist. I have no idea where it came from.
Do the Buddhists accept "Job" as the inspired word of God?
Knowing something and overtly causing it are two different things.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Job acted of his own free will.
God only knew Job was a GOOD man.
God was betting on him to act accordingly
which he did.
So the outcome is known...why all the pain and misery in the meantime?
Because Job was part of a lesson plan...
So we really don't have anything to worry about.
Wellll....I don't know if it's a pep talk. It's giving us an example of inner-spiritual strength, ...Even his own compadres didn't understand the truth meaning of "faith in God". Faith is a gift from God. We have to learn to nurture it and keep it growing. If we let it stagnate, our spirituality will weaken, and then we will be filled with doubts. (I believe there are few men who are like Job)

Even the demons know the ultimate outcome and are determined to be as much a force in dragging down as many of the human race as possible before then. Sorta like cosmic SCHADENFREUDE......
My dad teaches Sunday school to retired men..and they studied the book of Job for almost a year.. (I think it was about that long) I have to give him (and God of course) credit for explaining it to me in a shortened easy to understand version. :)

What does it matter, if the outcome is already known? It just means that everthing happens the way it's supposed to.
Those who humble themselves before God, admit their sin and sincerely repent of it, recognize their need of a Savior, accept Jesus Christ as that Savior and thank God for this free gift have absolutely nothing to worry about.
Those who have not done this definitely have something to worry about - the just wrath of a righteous God.
So why does it matter if people believe differently?
Why would He create something that bothered Him...unless it really doesn't?
I don't know, but they do have their thoughts on causation.
