Apocalyptic hysteria is stupid. It makes otherwise intelligent Christians look like idiots, and closes hearts to the good news of the King.

Apocalyptic hysteria is stupid. It blinds otherwise intelligent Christians to the opportunities right under their noses, by convincing them that their efforts are futile, anyways, so there's no use in trying too hard.

Apocalyptic hysteria is stupid. The victims refuse to learn from their history, and are therefore gulled time after time by hucksters with the latest batch of snake oil. Being a "prophecy teacher" means never have to say you're sorry for all of your previous failed predictions and failed marriages. (Hal Lindsey is on marriage #3, at last count.)

Apocalyptic hysteria is stupid. BY convincing its dupes that "time is short," it discourages them from investing the decades required to become influential in high endeavors, such as the arts, that transform societies.

Apocalyptic hysteria is stupid, since it makes so many otherwise wise Christians talk and act like fools, who have nothing to contribute to the discussion at hand.

Hasn't been my experience at all.

Sorry it's been yours.

Guess you'll have to tear out massive numbers of your verses from your Bible. What a waste.

I doubt God is impressed being called stupid. He's more into prophecy and it's fulfillment . . . as well as using it for evangelism, than I am.
