Just thought I'd test the waters here at FR's religion board. Any other Pagan Conservatives here?
Update my Atheists family friend was beyond anxiety about getting her really great new job, my positive thoughts aka Prayers that I did she let me know awesome.
With my support however biblically based helped her stop fearing the unknown and she got the job. A really good job. It is a job that she learned about while working for us.
Plus all her clients she is leaving behind are old community conservatives but I have a Canuck Catholic old school mate/friend that is going to take her old accounts.
THe clients are soooo relieved as my Canuck bud is well respectd for her famliy values and work ethic.
She is shocked that she is wanted, but I told her girl you don't know it but you are a chick from old school and a rare find in this out for myself society being pushed on us.
We are so sick of victem, homo in your face, spineless women and husbands stand in line because I have no pride cheese hand out types.
Don't get me wrong some in society those that are severely mental or physical and the evil need programs but the dopers, drunks and no pride govt sucker fish take away from the truly needy. And by evil I mean they need to be taken out of society, not the handicapped and I mean truly disabled not claimers.
If I did not eat dark greens and broccoli as my main meal. Yes I love goodies too. I would be spending my 2million health insurance plan on doctors cutting out parts that don't work anymore.
So what I don't spend and pay high premiums for may just save your life someday.
Doctors would love to have me as a patient as my plan pays big time.
But I would rather eat vegan and clear liqueds than get all the broken body parts fixed. Plus I don't have anyone to take over my job so I can do aftercare....(see bio if you don't get it)
Well we have not had any Pagans speak up as yet, darn that would really make for good discussion.
I liked your idea for a thread on other Religeon types.
Btw are you a Pagan? Maybe if you are you can speak first. LOL My name is Oslandr and I am a Pagan.
I remember him, he was actually pretty nice, misguided in the wisdom dept. but a nice guy. I am sure he still lurks.
Sounds like you are a human with all that goes along with it who respects Christs teachings. Pagan/Christian
Now you are talking true Pagan, Celts.
I use to go to rock/gem shows and bought awesome stuff.
Then this new age crap got preppy and now I can't afford a good speciman or buy one with out a heal your body rant.
True Pagans would be good to here from as I said I think you have a good thread idea here.
I'm happy to hear your prayers were effective. I hope your friend is successful in her new job!
Hey if the true Celtic Pagans come out maybe we should do a Greek Orthadox and Roman Catholic ping to help put facts and history opinions in the discussion.
I think this could turn into a very interesting thread.
I was just curious when I saw the title. Nobody mentioned the Orthodox so far, though :-).
I would love this thread to turn into more disscusion that resemble your post.
There is a history lesson here IMO
Salvation I pinged you here to help with fact about history of Celtic Pagans not the "New Age" Pagan stuff.
Maybe you know a FR poster who could help connect the dots on how Celtic Pagans left behind their faith and turned to Christ. What practices stuck with them...
ECT....
Unfortunately, very few Freepers are willing to have a civilized discussion. As a Freeper since 1998, I and other Wiccan/Christians have learned to keep a low profile.
It is rather sad, since people like me are often caught in the middle. New Age "liberal" pagans hate us, and Christians often call us God hating Satan worshipers.
One of my methods of identifying the Celtic influence upon Western Christianity, is by comparing the beliefs of Roman Catholic with Greek Orthodox.
Many friends in Bulgaria have been extremely valuable in helping me to understanding the differences. The Celts did not have as much of an historical influence in Eastern Europe, some of the differences may be attributed to the incorporation of ancient Celtic beliefs.
Why would you be miles apart in theology?
And I was starting to believe I was the only one here!
Asatru, as I understand it and that understanding may be imperfect, is the religion of Nordic paganism and involves the acknowledgment of more than one divine entity. In addition, the concept of salvation as it is understood within traditional Christianity is absent.
As a Christian, these two issues alone would put us "miles apart". There are obviously many others. That said, the Asatru I have met do share a lot of social values with me even though we part company at religion. I hope that answered it for you!
Well, I don't know. In my particular "brand" of Christianity the Jews have a divinely ordained purpose to fulfill. We differ in theology because not because one group is right and the other wrong but because we have different paths to follow that lead to the same end - the Second Coming.
Nordic paganism also leads toward a well understood ending but it's pretty different.
As a child, were you taught by your parents the exact words of God, or was it filtered though a specific religious denomination?
Have you been able to separate between what God taught and the political distortions introduced by man?
If there was only one Jesus, how is it possible to have so many Christian denominations? Did Jesus not teach everyone the exact same lesson?
Men and cultures will always alter religion for political power. Understand and separate that important human attribute and the lessons that God actually taught you will become more focused.
I can promise nothing more.
