Is it just me, or does anyone else feel ill watching Benny Hinn place his hand on people and expect them to fall over?

With all due respect, if this scam artist charlatan belongs on FR, it might be in the Religion forum.

I believe God can and will use anyone to heal others, so just because people don't like the man doesn't mean people aren't getting healed.

Mr. Hinn lives in a multi-million dollar house that he made his organization pay for; Some kind of 'spiritual' center. Dateline did a hidden camera expose on Mr. Hinn awhile back, to see how he picks who goes up on stage. They also interviewed some people regarding 'healings';a couple people thought they had in fact been 'healed'. The majority of interviews were done with family members of 'healed' people who were shortly thereafter deceased.
I have heard that the reason people fall over like that is because of mass-hypnotism, either that or the principle of self-fulfillment, whereby a person believes he is supposed to 'feel' something; so he convinces himself that he 'feels' it.
My point, I guess, is that Mr. Hinn has gotten very rich off of Jesus Christ. If he loves Jesus so much, where's the sacrifice? Why the fancy suits, the media-hogging, the big house?
The biggest problem I have with Mr. Hinn is that he, and other 'healers' put a big emphasis on praying over people and fixing them. As in, we're going to invoke the Holy Spirit over your deformed leg, and you're gonna get up and walk away.
If the person DOESN'T get up, then that person must have a 'demon'. Or that person must not 'really believe.'
Its a denial of the merits of suffering, of how suffering can be a sign of sanctity. Suffering can be a GIFT. A good thing that can benefit people. Its not meaningless. Thats why Jesus did what he did; to make our suffering MEAN something. But there's none of that in Benny Hinn. Its all about getting rid of this horrible pain which must be a curse from God. What about the cross? What about "you mustn't take away my little cross"? Fans of the Little Flower will know what I'm talking about.
People can believe what they want to believe. But it is a privilege beyond any other privilege to suffer; to be so close to Christ that He permits you to endure a small part of what He did on the cross. Running a Christian ministry and brushing that under the rug is just plain wrong.

Sorry if this is rude, but for many English people, when you put the words "American" and "Christian" together, the mental image they get is Benny Hinn.
Is he really that popular over there, or do most people think he's a fruitcake?

Benny Hinn is of Palestinian descent, is he not? Perhaps he could take his act to the Gaza Strip and show solidarity with his brethren.

Oh, TELL me you're not a Benny Hinn person.
He repulses me as a pastor, a Christian, a person with a brain that sometimes works, and a male.
TELL me you don't watch him without cringing and running away.
