So, you're saying that on the 6th day God created "man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them", rested on the 7th day, then went about making a single man from the dust and making his woman out of his rib as a special and separate creation of man?

The passages can be interpreted this way, I suppose, but they can also be interpreted as the solidification of thought forms into a vessel that fits the creature paradigm of Earth.

Matter of fact, they can be interpreted to mean just about any story you want, with enough assumptions. I'm not saying that interpretation is necessarily wrong, but it's an extraordinary one unsupported by the plain text and needs extraordinary proof other than extraordinary interpretations of other passages.

Yup!!!!! also The Hebrew word translated "man" is adam. In the manuscripts it is not preceded by the definite article 'eth and so it does not refer to a specific person, i.e. the word adam means human being or mankind, and no gender is implied If you have a Companion Bible it will document it for you.
this is why you must check out the languages becuase words can be used in passages that have completely diffrent meanings.

"When Cain was sent forth into the land of Nod, it says he took a wife. Where in the world did she come from?" The answer is simple, she was of the sixth day creation. FOr those that keep asking.

And so God said, let "us" make mankind in "our" image. The words "us" and "our" refer back to Elohim, which is to say God and the host of heaven, or God and the angels. It does not say that man just looks like God, does it?

26] And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
