Requesting prayer for my Aunt and Uncle, Joyce and Fred Schork, who decided to remain in their mobile home in Punta Gorda during Hurricane Charley. They are both in their 80's.
My Dad spoke with them just before the Hurricane struck, and they thought at that time that the storm would pass to their north, and that they would be OK since their mobile home was rated to 110 MPH winds. As we know now, the storm struck Punta Gorda with winds in excess of 145 MPH.
They have not been heard from since. I have sent a Health & Welfare request through SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network), but have not heard from them yet.
Please pray, and if anyone knows of them and their status, please post it here.
Please keep us updated.
Prayers for your aunt and uncle, Jerry!

Sunday morning prayer bump.
Prayers for their sfety and strength to survive their ordeal.
Sorry I missed thing ping yesterday. Prayers are being offered. Please let us all know as soon as you hear anything.
Still no word. The hardest part is not knowing.
Spoke with my Mom . Still no word of the fate of my aunt & cousins in Punta Gorda . Guess it'll be a while before the phones are up and working again . Praying ...
Hang in there. Shep Smith (Fox News Channel) is in Punta Gorda and filed a report a little earlier saying that he was told the search and rescue teams have finished going through all the mobile home parks and will hold a news / press conference tomorrow sometime. You may be able to learn something then.
Shep said, "it was hard to read some of what was in the local newspaper down there this morning", but didn't go into much detail. He used to work down there, so he knows a lot of people.
I tried to find the newspaper he might have been talking about, and this is the closest thing I could find. If you haven't seen it yet, you may be able to glean some details from it that you aren't getting from the bigger media outlets:

We'll keep praying. We dodged the bullet here NW of Orlando by only about 20 miles. Lots of trees down and wind damage, but still have electric and phone service which is more than thousands in Florida can say. No way am I gonna complain.
Good news. My Aunt was able to call my Dad. They are without power and other utilities, but came through the storm relatively unscathed. They had a tree come down and through a window, and other minor damage, but other than that they are OK.
sushiman, I hope you will receive similar word soon. We will continue to pray for your family, as well as all the otehrs who are impacted.
Thanks for your prayers.
Happy to hear your aunt and uncle are OK . Thanks for your prayers .
*whew! I'm glad to hear it. Have sent up a few prayers for your aunt and uncle in the days since this thread started. Happy to hear your good news. Sushiman, same goes for your many relatives -- I hope you hear good news soon. Keep the faith.
Jerry,
Thanks be to God. I am relieved at your good news.
Sushiman,
Prayers for good news for you going up right now
