I am not familiar with Sandlin, I am familiar with Gary North. I do not consider him mainstream Calvinism. In His book Unholy Spirits he endorsed Robert Tilton (who is a fruitcake). His Y2K hysteria (a regular on Art Bell at the time) was embarassing.

The home church movement is unbiblical. I have no problem meeting in a home but the family and the church are not interchangeable.

OP can speak to the issue within Presbyterianism. I am a credo baptist, non-denominational type. I do denounce Health and Wealth Prosperity preachers (which includes North's bud -- Robert Tilton). BTW, in Unholy Spirits North says that prosperity theology is embraced some theonomic principles.

I'm not saying that he is. I was just listing him as an example of someone who has been writing against the home church movement, which illustrates that people are taking it seriously. North has broken away from the Chalcedon foundation, but he is still a Reconstructionist. Sandlin is also a former Chalcedon person, but I believe he is no longer a Reconstructionist and wants to be more mainstream.

I agree. My only point was that the growing home church movement is evidence of a problem with the question of authority. Men are asking themselves, "By what authority does this guy tell me what to do?" I've been reading about this occurring within the Calvinist tradition, but it looks like it's an even bigger problem within some other groups.

I am a credo baptist, non-denominational type.

I didn't realize that. I wasn't meaning to be personal when I described the hard-core Calvinists' view of Baptists.

North says that prosperity theology is embraced some theonomic principles.

That's probably true. Every heresy embraces some good principles.
