***Palm Sunday Mystery:Is Jesus Buried In Rome?***
Stardate: 0404.4

Realizing that some interpert Jesus's remarks that the greatest thing a man can do is give his life for another, was testimony of Peter's taking His place on the cross, and that Judas participated in the plan to save his master's life, and kissed Peter not Jesus, (you must remember folks that there were no pictures or tape, and the Romans only knew what they were told, and it is quite likely that Judas gave up Peter on Jesus's behalf, so that Jesus might continue to do his work)
This explains why Jesus, as Peter, denied Christ 3 times when he was identified during the night....Peter would never have renounced his master.....
But my point is this.....if this is true, it means Christ is buried in Peter's tomb....
The body of this great and wonderful man is there today, in Rome under the name of his greatest follower

just a thought.....a human thought about the possible actions of human men who loved their master enough to protect Him.....

He is not here; He is risen, even as He said.

This has got to be the stupidest speculation I've ever heard of.
Hey! It could be, you know, that it was actually Christ who was crucified and Christ who rose from the dead. Did that possibility never occur to you?

2000 years ago isn't very long. We have pretty good records of what happened.
For example, the head of John the Baptist, who was Jesus's first cousin, is on display in Damascus.

....Peter would never have renounced his master.....Yeah, because Peter was perfect, unlike his flawed master...

Realizing that some interpert Jesus's remarks that the greatest thing a man can do is give his life for another, was testimony of Peter's taking His place on the cross, Ahhhhhh. You figured it out! Peter put on one of those fake rubber "Jesus" masks and when no one was looking, he quickly shoved Jesus off the cross just as the guy with the hammer was starting his downswing to drive the nail through Jesus's hands.
You'll win a Nobel for figuring this out.

Conspiracy theories can be fun. But this one is too sloppy to be fun. Did you even try to challenge your own story before you slapped it out here?
To: The Wizard
Ummm, but the members of the Sanhedrin KNEW Jesus personally. So they must have been in on it too. Amazing how they would want to keep Jesus alive.

This would sort of negate His whole purpose for coming wouldn't it? sheeesh

Jesus Rose. He is not burried anywhere. If you believe he is then you are not a Christian.

Here's the story the catholic church tells during the scavi tour, under St. Peters.
When Constantine told the pope he'd pay for a proper church, he gave the church the land on the vatican cemetery. The hill was leveled off to Peter's grave and the altar was constructed over the grave.
Peter did not have a tomb, but in the late 2nd century a marble altar with four pillars was built over the grave. Pilgrims were coming to Rome and the stops for christians included the graves of Paul and Peter.
In the 1930s the pope hired archeologists to look into the story of Peter's grave. They found the marble slab which has "Peter Is Here" in Latin enscribed and some tourist had added "Peter, Here I Am." The bones underneath were said to be those of a man about 1900 years old and the feet were broken (believed to have happened when Peter's followers took him down from his upsidedown crucifixion.
On the tour you can see a pillar of the altar through a hole in the brick wall. The entire wall is not excavated because it would undermine the support for the altar. But the folks who went in made a hole big enough for their purposes.
Whether or not you believe the story, the tour is quite interesting and the church only allows 20 people a day under there. So book early.

I'm always amazed how the New Testament isn't sufficient witness to the Gospel ... there are always new "theories" ...
like John Dominic Crossan ... Mr. "Jesus Seminar" himself ... he spins everything from the Gospels ...

I don't know what stories you have been reading, but according to the Book I read...he rose from the dead and ascended.

Jesus is not barried in Rome, he has risen. Maybe Lazarus was transported to Rome, the only man to come back from the dead.
To: The Wizard
I have been at Peter's tomb under the Vatican. The graffiti throughout the catacomb states over and over again "To Christ through Peter"
Plus remember that scriptire tells us someone who was with Jesus, (believed to be Peter), took up a sword and cut off the ear of the High Priest's servant. Then Jesus touched the servant's ear and healed it. If the arrested one was Peter he would not have been able to heal the ear except in Jesus name. Jesus would never lie about his identity, since that would be sinful and Jesus was without sin.
