Ten "pro-abortion Catholic" Senators vote against "Unborn Victims of Violence Act"

Mutilation without representation?
Would you believe that 36 Democratic senators voted against the "Unborn Victims of Violence Act." When you compare this with just 2 Republicans voting against the act, it confirms my charges that the Democratic Party has lost ts moral compass and has earned the title, "The Party of Death."

Mind you, this vote has nothing to do with abortions. It just states that if the mother is assaulted and she and her unborn child are killed, the assailant would be charged with 2 deaths. If the mother lives, then just the death of the unborn child.

One has to wonder why any sane civilized person would not want this to be the law of the land. Ah, but when it comes to acknowledging that the unborn child is indeed a human being and should have rights, Democrats want no part f it.

How is it possible that someone can reach the height of a senator of the United States and still be that stupid that they are not aware that the life in a pregnant womb is a human being?

Answer: Because they are so deep in the pockets of the Abortion Industry that all they can see is green, which blinds them from the truth.

Of these 36, 10 are Catholics -- John Kerry, Ted Kennedy Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, Richard Durbin, Tom Harkin, Pat Leahy, Barbara Mikulski, Jack Reed and Patty Murray.

Three Catholic senators who are pro-abortion voted in favor of the act-- Daschle, Landrieu and Collins. Wasn't that nice of them. They admit the unborn child is a human being and should have rights, but nonetheless, they are fair game if the mother wants them killed. Still trying to figure this one out.

With their disdain for human life, these so called Catholics even have the gall to receive Holy Communion and the priest will oblige. After all -- all bishops in the USA but one (Archbishop Burke of St. Louis) have NOT issued edicts to refuse them.

Why the bishops continue to show no respect for the Eucharist is mind boggling.

To me, this sin of the bishops is as great as the sin of the Catholic pro-abortion politicians, because it, in essence, gives approval to their heresy.

Unborn Victims of Violence Act Heads to President Bush, by Steven Ertelt, LifeNews.com Editor, March 26, 2004

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Unborn Victims of Violence Act now heads to President Bush after the U.S. Senate on Thursday handed pregnant women and their unborn children a major victory.

The legislation will be the third major pro-life bill to become law since Bush took office, following the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and a ban on partial-birth abortions.

The legislation would ensure that criminals who attack pregnant women and kill or injure their unborn children, on federal property in during the commission of federal crimes, can be charged with two crimes.

Senators voted 61-38 in favor of the bill after turning back two amendments that lawmakers said would gut the intent of the legislation. Earlier, members of the Senate defeated a one-victim substitute offered by Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA).

The legalization of abortion has allowed some who would shirk their responsibility as fathers to attack their wives or girlfriends and attempt to kill the baby.

Sen. Lyndsey Graham (R-SC) said that three people in Arkansas were in prison "for the express purpose of killing a child ... because they were hired by the boyfriend who didn't want to pay child support."

Most the day's debate centered on the dispute between pro-life lawmakers and abortion advocates about whether there are two victims in such crimes, both mother and child, or whether the unborn victims bill would overturn legal abortion.

Feinstein accused backers of the bill of wanting to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision and limiting embryonic stem cell research.

"That is exactly what the Right to Life movement wants to do. Once you have the egg being a human being than that egg during any stage of development deserves protection ... this law makes that egg a victim."

"If you give a fertilized egg rights in federal law, it will have repercussions down line," Feinstein added. "The bill covers children that are not children, that are day old in the womb after conception."

But Graham disputed that contention, saying the bill focused solely on pregnant women and their children who are victims of horrible cases of violence.

The bill was about "when criminals attack pregnant women," Graham countered, saying the legislation contained an abortion exemption.

"I don't know why you'd want to give a criminal a break if he goes around beating on pregnant woman," Graham added. "If you attack a woman of childbearing years, you do so at your own peril."

At one point in the debate, after Sen. Sam Brownback, a Kansas Republican, discussed the specifics of numerous cases of violence against pregnant women, Sen. Feinstein admitted the cases were "tragic" and that there are two victims.

"In fact, that child is a victim," Feinstein said, though she indicated law shouldn't define unborn children as persons.

Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, who has drawn criticism from pro-life groups for his support of destructive research involving human embryos, said the bill would not stop such research.

Massachusetts senator John Kerry, who backs abortion, voted no on the unborn victims bill. President Bush has long supported the pro-life legislation.

Dear God, I just am sickened by this!

I am always so surprised when Catholics are pro abortion, but I must say I am not surprised by those who voted no, the usual suspects. Follow the money and the votes with this group.

The Hatch proposal is being nixed by many pro life groups too, what is his problem, and why do those in Utah keep voting for this man?

Is there a Vatican council or commission that has ( dare I say the 'r' word ) responsibility for such heretics. How does one, or can one ask for consideration of excommunication for their overt anti-Roman Catholic voting?

Solemn Warning! The following people are those who claim to be Catholic but dissent from the Truth as handed down from Jesus Christ, Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, the Divine Word, to His Apostles and their successors. Unfortunately, even clergy are included on this list. However, since the beginning of Christianity, history shows that even heresy can begin with clergy, one notable example being the priest Martin Luther who started all of Protestantism.

These people are commonly associated with various Dissident Organizations or beliefs as indicated (see also the Dissident Organization page). The names of these individual dissidents, which are listed in alphabetical order by common dissent topic, are offered for your education and awareness. This list is not complete and will be modified as more information is learned over time. Read also on how does a person get placed on this list.

This set of people are unfortunately acting like JUDAS - Just Undermine Doctrine And Spirituality! Since "God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth that all men be saved" (1 Timothy 2:3),  remember that it is your duty to pray for these people so that they may embrace the full Truth of the Catholic Faith! God's Love, Mercy and Forgiveness are boundless for the repentant sinner.

This vote makes me wonder about the Catholic Church in Massachusetts. What do the priests say in their sermons. The people seem more loyal to the Democratic Party than the beliefs of the Catholic Church. All of their Senators and Congressmen are Democrats.Kerry and Kennedy and 8 out of 10 of their House members all voted against the Unborn Victim's Act.And so far I don't think Archbishop O Malley is the man to clean out this Aegean Stable.

Sermons here don't go into much detail although we get hammered over the head with the evils of the death penalty (of the born that is) and the evils of poverty which is really just a sop to Socialism. The Church here is rotten to the core and the infestation of Sodomites is nearly complete. Many priests here support gay marriage, a few speak out and the majority are just scared about the collection dropping off.

Augean Stables.

Aegean Sea.

That said, what is the Church in Massachusetts thinking? Are they afraid they'll lose Sunday offering or their tax exempt status?

Worth repeating. As this article points out, this legislation will be the third major pro-life bill to become law since Bush took office, following the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and a ban on partial-birth abortions. God bless our President.
