Dear PNAMBC,

Yes, God sets the standards, and our leaders in the Catholic Church have fallen short of them.

But it appears that those in other denominations have fallen even shorter of these standards, and that folks in the secular world have fallen even much more miserably shorter of these standards.

Considering that many have taken the failings of Catholic priests and bishops to whack the Church on a variety of topics, including her moral authority to teach, and even whether or not the Church is even Christian, these results are quite noteworthy.

All have sinned, all have fallen short of the glory of God.

But it seems that Catholic priests have fallen short less often than other ministers of God, and much less so than those who do not try to serve God with their whole lives.

That effectively refutes those who would try to question the moral authority of the Church to teach on issues of morality due to the scandals.

That most effectively refutes those who say the scandals have been evidence of the "un-Christian" nature of the Catholic Church.

The results are noteworthy indeed.

Is what I find noteworthy is that it is obvious that many Catholics are being comforted by the fact that this is going on in so many other places also.
