The "Church" was built on Jesus Christ. I truly wish that you and the rest of my RC brothers & sisters would look at that fact and try to restore the whole Church, instead of trying to re-enforce the authority of the Bishop of Rome. If I might respond; The way I see it, Jesus built the Church. And, he built it upon Peter.
Rather than attempt to disprove the legitimacy of other religions, it is my hope to defend Catholicism from those who attempt who would do that to us.
I also defend our pope. But, more importantly, I try to live in accordance with his application of Christ's teaching to the challenges that we all face in this day.

I challenge you to do as I suggested to polikemos, and study a little deeper on the subject. Read the writings of Pope Gregory the Great, study the history of the Church, and try to do it from neutral sources. You will find that Papal Supremecy became an issue after 800 A.D. Before that time, the Popes themselves preached against such arrogance.
