Thanks Zack, that's exactly right and well put. In the context of Acts 10 and 11, the whole point of the chapters is that gentiles were not to be considered ceremonially unclean anymore because God had given his holy spirit to them. The entire two chapters are the story of the beginning of having gentiles included in the promises of Israel, not about what foods to eat.
