Was it pre-destined that he should drop dead 2 days before he was scheduled to receive the red hat? One can only wonder.

One of my favorites is St. Gregory Palamas, who died a schismatic, yet is honored as a Saint by the Melkite Catholics.
Its one thing to enjoy the insights of a man in his work, its quite another to adopt him as a certain guide of truths of the faith where he contradicts the Church.
