cheap trick behind the most devastating lie in the history of mankind
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_Poll ^ | 10/15/2003 | self

Here are the some of the results of a 1999 Gallup poll on creationism, evolution, and public education :
49% believe that human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life.
Evolution theory is the most important weapon to twist people's minds.
For 99% of the people the most important REAL reason for believing in it : a trick that costed a few bucks, 100 years ago.
Even more incredible : the trick has remained the same until now.
Only lately, with very fast computers that allow virtual reality software to perform convincing enough, have we seen some effects added to the base trick.
I wonder who is the first Freeper to find out the trick behind the most devastating lie in the history of mankind.

We might as well give up the Creationists have a new toy they are trying out. Have fake agnostics shill for the Christians by saying they see glaring holes in Evolutionary theory. I see that the anti-science christians are taking their plays from the Communist manifesto themselves. Will their deceptions never cease.

Unless someone comes up with the right answer I will wait 24 hours, to give a chance to all freepers that visit the site daily.

Hey, I thought it was at least once during their lifetimes (if they are able). So when do we throw the stones at the devil???

"The fossil record is one of about 29 such lines of evidence. If it isn't why most people believe in evolution--I have no idea where you're going there--it should be."

No, the fossil record is just misinformation planted by aliens to lead us all astray...

No, wait, the fossil record is misinformation planted by Satan to lead us all astray...

No, wait, the fossil record is misinformation planted by Slartibartifast and his cohorts to cover the fact that the white mice are really in charge and we are just part of a large computer running an extremely complex program...

No, wait...

I'm so confused...

Do you really believe living under a theocracy is a free society?

Think about it.

For example: (from here: http://personal.pitnet.net/primarysources/sumptuary.html )

Colonial Laws of Massachusetts, 1651

Sumptuary Laws (Laws Regarding What One May or May Not Wear)

ALTHOUGH SEVERAL DECLARATIONS and orders have been made by this Court against excess in apparel, both of men and women, which have not taken that effect as were to be desired, but on the contrary, we cannot but to our grief take notice that intolerable excess and bravery have crept in upon us, and especially among people of mean condition, to the dishonor of God, the scandal of our profession, the consumption of estates, and altogether unsuitable to our poverty. And, although we acknowledge it to be a matter of much difficulty, in regard of the blindness of men's minds and the stubbornness of their wills, to set down exact rules to confine all sorts of persons, yet we cannot but account it our duty to commend unto all sorts of persons the sober and moderate use of those blessings which, beyond expectation, the Lord has been pleased to afford unto us in this wilderness. And also to declare our utter detestation and dislike that men and women of mean condition should take upon them the garb gentlemen by wearing gold or silver lace, or buttons, or points at their knees, or to walk in great boots; or women of the same ran to wear silk or tiffany hoods, or scarves which, though allowable to persons of greater estates or more liberal education, we cannot but judge it intolerable. . . .

It is therefore ordered by this Court, and authority thereof, that no person within the jurisdiction, nor any of their relations depending upon them, whose visible estates, real and personal, shall not exceed the true and indifferent value of £200, shall wear any gold or silver lace, or gold and silver buttons, or any bone lace above 2s. per yard, or silk hoods, or scarves, upon the penalty of 10s. for every such offense and every such delinquent to be presented to the grand jury. And forasmuch as distinct and particular rules in this case suitable to the estate or quality of each person cannot easily be given: It is further ordered by the authority aforesaid, that the selectmen of every town, or the major part of them, are hereby enabled and required, from time to time to have regard and take notice of the apparel of the inhabitants of their several towns respectively; and whosoever they shall judge to exceed their ranks and abilities in the costliness or fashion of their apparel in any respect, especially in the wearing of ribbons or great boots (leather being so scarce a commodity in this country) lace, points, etc., silk hoods, or scarves, the select men aforesaid shall have power to assess such persons, so offending in any of the particulars above mentioned, in the country rates, at £200 estates, according to that proportion that such men use to pay to whom such apparel is suitable and allowed; provided this law shall not extend to the restraint of any magistrate or public officer of this jurisdiction, their wives and children, who are left to their discretion in wearing of apparel, or any settled militia officer or soldier in the time of military service, or any other whose education and employment have been above the ordinary degree, or whose estate have been considerable, though now decayed.

The ones killed by Hitler weren't killed by Atheists. Hitler believed in a mish mash of religions. Your the one defending christians who have been responsible for such things as giving blankets full of small pox to natives or enslaving entire races because their holy book tells them its ok. How about all the jews they murdered over hundreds of years. Let us not forget all the witches they burned, all the muslims they slaughtered. OH and lets not forget the muslims killing christians in the name of God. Religions don't have a leg to stand on if they want to discuss massacres.

Keep shilling for the fools run more people away from the Conservatives create that hell on Earth you so fear in the afterlife.

I agree with you that authentic sightings of secular evolution skeptics are about as common as those of Bigfoot.

There was a fad of people claiming such a few years ago and then not knowing anything about evolution that Duane Gish hadn't said. Maybe it's coming back.

But you've got to play them longer before hauling them into the boat. Have you signed the Agreement of the Willing?

I refuse to sign the agreement because the Creationists can't and won't stop blatant attacks and they refuse not to LIE. Why should I treat them with respect when they are willing to LIE to support their idiotic beliefs.

Or even by God, to give Adam a nice fully-developed home with a lived-in appearance. This is the Omphalos, or bellybutton, hypothesis. Adam had a bellybutton, you see, despite not being born the normal way.

One could make the strong argument that Communist states would not have been able to kill 100 million people in the 20th century if they had not believed in evolution, and the attendant atheist state that came with it.

There are a couple of things wrong with your thesis:

1. It's based on the ludicrous notion that only the theory of evolution makes atheism possible.

2. It ignores the fact that as a state policy, the USSR officially rejected Darwinian evolution and suppressed its teaching, and instead supported Lysenkoism as the "approved" state view.

"fake agnostics"

Haven't been to Church in 20 years. Asked the question, "Is there a God?", my answer is "Insufficient Data".

But funny how your only defense is to present anyone who preaches what to you is -clearly- "heresy" as evil lying "shills" out to insinuate themselves into the proper, "right-thinking", science-fearing community.

I consider myself a scientist. I have tremendous respect for what science has accomplished. And -as- a scientist, I know the difference between a Hypothesis and a Theory, and a Theory and a Fact.

And what I find funniest of all is the unbelievable amount of ego it takes to NOT JUST believe that science is capable of solving any problem, but also that THEIR OWN INTELLIGENCE and analytical abilities are so God-like that they can with relative ease determine exactly what happened 600 million years ago based on wholly insufficient data, when they -still- can't figure out how to throw a bunch of amino acids into a soup and get a DNA strand out of it.

Your devotion to Darwin as a prophet is as overzealous as the Islamists' devotion to Muhammad.

But hey, demonize all those who don't agree with the party line as evil liars cloaking themselves as pious angels (read: respectable scholars) but really just misrepresenting themselves (those insiduous serpents!) out to destroy our moral (read: scientific) principles. Uh huh. You can't even hear how you sound, can you? I wonder if anyone out there can.

[Communism is based on the theory of evolution, just like nazis.]

Really? Well then, I gotta wonder why the word "evolution" does not appear in the Communist Manifesto.

Here's another little fly in the ointment:

"Therefore, I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lord's work."
-- Adolf Hitler, "Mein Kampf"

You can state anything you want. If you are supporting the silly young Earth creationism you are either a false agnostic, a fool, or a troll. There aren't any other choices.

How old do you believe the Earth and Universe are?

I know for a fact it is at least 44 years and one day (if my birth certificate will suffice as evidence) beyond that I am not really sure of anything!
