In related news...

Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) has a similar bill to Cornyn's Amnesty parked in Judiciary, S.1461.1

Arizona Congressmen Jeff Flake and Jim Kolbe, both Republicans, have introduced a companion bill to McCain's in the House, HR.2899.2

Also coming out of the Senate Judiciary Committee is Senator Orrin Hatch's (R-Utah) Dream Act, S. 1545, which would compel state governments to grant in-state tuition to Illegals who came into the country as children.3

Hatch is also sponsoring a Constitutional Amendment that would allow naturalized citizens, including Amnestied Illegals, to hold the office of President of the United States.4

Meanwhile, the Treasury department under President Bush continues to allow banks to accept the Mexcian matricula consular I.D. cards which are used increasingly and exclusively by Illegal Aliens to open bank accounts by which they wire-transfer their Illegal earnings back to Mexico.5

The Battle for Ilegal Alien Amnesty will be fought within the Republican tent in 2004.

This is a favor to the Dimwits on Wall Street. For example, Clinton Treas. Secretary Rubin et al at Citigroup want to make it easier for Mexicans in the U.S. to transfer funds from Citibank accounts to Citigroup's Mexican bank subsidiary.

The only side benefit to this is the process of elimination. If we know the money is being wired for Mexican families, good chance to eliminate these transfers from those being investigated for financing terrorists.

Amnesty for illegal aliens begets more illegal aliens.

If you reward lawbreakers, lawbreaking will will increase...

Even if it's Republicans who are doing the rewarding.

Closer to the truth, but guess it wouldn't play [or pay] as well, huh?

Could you clarify the Dream Act for me? Does this act mean that illegal aliens will receive free college tuition from all colleges in the US? Or does this means that the illegals don't have to pay out of state tuition?

All of these rewards for breaking the law have me a bit confused.

One can't but help note the attention to detail concerning the aliens' earnings, special accounts and funds created and monitored.

Legislators continue to push for amnesty because, for them, it's the easiest way out of this dilemna. Arrests and deportation demands taking responsibility for upholding the rule of law. We cruel constituents should feel ashamed for asking so much from them (sarc).

All of these rewards for breaking the law have me a bit confused.

That's because you're either a citizen or a legal resident of the United States of America.

WASHINGTON--Speaking at a rally of young undocumented immigrants who are urging Congress to allow them to attend public colleges at in-state tuition prices, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said the country will "benefit enormously" by opening college classes to the children of people who entered the U.S. illegaly.

"We can choose either to keep these talented young people underground or we can choose to give them a chance to contribute to the United States," Hatch said at a Capitol Hill news conference Thursday to urge support of his "DREAM Act," the Development, Relief, and Education For Alien Minors Act.

The Bill sponsored by the Utah Republican and Sen. Dick Durban, D-Ill., would repeal a section of federal law preventing states from granting in-state tuition rates to non-U.S citizens who do not have proof they entered the country legally.

It also would grant pemanent U.S. residency status to immigrants who came to the United States prior to the age 16, have lived in the country at least five years, are "of good moral character" and earn a college degree, complete at least two years of college, serve in the U.S. miltary or perform community service.
Salt Lake Tribune (FR link) - September 5th, 2003

Once these college-age Illegals are given permanent residency by way of Hatch's Dream Act Amnesty, the states will be compelled to give them in-state tuition because of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

This is an incentive for even more adult Illegals to risk smuggling their children over the border, in the hopes of subsequent Amnesties down the road from politicians like Orrin Hatch of Utah.

There's no shortage of them, either. Here is a list of Senator Hatch's pandering co-sponsors...

Title: A bill to amend the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 to permit States to determine State residency for higher education purposes and to authorize the cancellation of removal and adjustment of status of certain alien students who are long-term United States residents.
Sponsor: Sen Hatch, Orrin G. [UT] (introduced 7/31/2003)      Cosponsors: 35
Latest Major Action: 7/31/2003 Referred to Senate committee. Status: Read twice and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Colorado Alliance for Immigration Reform (CAIR) - "No taxation without borders"

Lots of good links and information at http://www.cairco.org/

With no relation to the above I continue. Emails and letters -- even direct contact -- does no good. My own experience talking to my Congressman's local staff proved that I am the bad guy for complaining. The Congressman is a Republican.

Both Parties pursue invariably the same objective and evince a design to cheapen the worth of citizenship for a pay back, for them, of "cheap labor," campaign money, and the promise of votes.

History has proven that this is not a transient matter. It will never end. There will always be the need for "cheap labor," campaign money, and the promise of votes.

About twelve years ago a group of senior citizens chased Congressman Dan Rostenkowski chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee through the streets of Chicago. The seniors were angry about a bill recently passed that raised Medicare costs. Rostenkowski barely made it to his taxpayer-funded limo. I still remember the video of seniors beating on the limo. News reports at the time said the incident scared the hell out of the Congress. The bill was rescinded.

It has come to that. It will happen spontaneously. Where will it happen first?

Maybe you can find them but I don't find any penalties for criminality by potential "guest workers".
