I paid $24.94 for unlimited downloads, for a lifetime. The company is Mp3downloadcity. Am I now safe to download mp3s? After reading the instructions, which I think is just alot of babble, I am still unable to understand how this works. The website has you to download Kazaa, then you start downloading like you always do. How does the recording industry know that I am a paid subscriber? Does it make any difference to them that I have paid to download mp3s. I am starting to question the legality of this, since I have been unable to contact them by email or any other way. It says on their website that they have a 30 money back guarantee, but they must recieve an email from you, before the 30 day time limit. The problem is, my emails keep coming back from them. Damien tells me, there is no route to host. Whatever that means.
Help from anyone, would be helpful.

Document everything.
It seems shady to me.
(I use WinMX and Shareaza for my music downloads. To date, they're not being targeted by the RIAA. Download, burn, delete...that's the way I do it...)

Sounds like a scam to me. Unfortunately, you've probably also downloaded much spyware.
To: auggy
Thats most definatly not legal.
Listen.com's rhapsody is the only way to go for legal music.

Methinks you got taken, to be frank. Can't swear to that...........but NEVER send money to just anyone over the Internet. If you can't get in touch with them, then call your credit card company.

Roxio just released Napster 2.0. They made a deal with RIAA, so you pay to download, but it's perfectly legal.
To: auggy
Oops, I stand corrected. Napster 2.0 is slated for release on the 29th.

Anybody tried Earthstation5, any comments?
To: auggy
Contact the FCC in person, better try to get a refund.

Ya'll tried this one?
To: RightOnline
Thanks! I plan to call my credit card company today.
I was also unable to get any info from Google about this company. Seems like there just wasn't any.
Thanks again.

I tried EarthStation5 as well as Ares...there just weren't enough users sharing files for it to be worthwhile.
Both WinMX and Shareaza are 100% spyware free to boot.

In order for the credit card to be charged they need a merchant account, can't your bank credit card force a credit as it's fraudulent?

Cool, thanks!
Unless I'm real lucky that someone has digitized what I'm looking for, I probably won't find it anyway. The last things I downloaded were from AudioGalaxy before the went away, after I even got in touch with the drummer from the band and he couldn't even find me a copy of what I wanted.

"Sounds like a scam to me. Unfortunately, you've probably also downloaded much spyware."No, instead of downloading Kazaa, I went with Kazaa-Lite. Kazaa-Lite is just like Kazaa, but with no spyware.
I did at first download Kazaa. Then, did a scan with Pest Patrol. It found 130 spies, bugs or what ever, just in Kazaa. I deleted them all, then deleted Kazaa. That is one program you don't ever need to download.
