Mansoor Ijaz on Greta Van Suesteren - Al Qaeda Planning on Hijacking Super Tankers!

Mansoor Ijaz was on Greta's show, he gave a detailed analysis about some very disturbing accounts on the various sea lanes. He mentioned that the Straits of Mollucca, between Singapore, Indonesia, and Maylasia have always been a hotbed of piracy, but recent events have raised alarms. It seems like many ships have been hijacked in the last few months by Islamic radicals but rather than stealing the cargo or kidnapping the crews these terrorists have just wanted to know how to steer the big ships! He compared this to the 9/11 terrorists going to the various flight schools only wanting to know how to fly big jets--not wanting to land them.
Further, he mentioned that in this same area about 12 (?) tug boats have been pirated and have now dissappeared. He is concerned that they could be used to haul or pull a larger ship into position to cause some atrocity in one of our harbors. He also mentioned that several diving experts have been contacted to teach Islamicists on how to swim unnoticed underwater. Demolition charges planned?
He discussed with Greta his thoughts on all this. Is Al Qaeda planning another 9/11, but this time using large ships or super tankers to blow up an American city? He also stated that ships disabled or destroyed in certain waters could destroy the economies of many nations, such as the straits between the Agean and Black seas in Turkey, the Straits of Hourmuz in the Persian Gulf, the Straits of Gibraltar, etc, etc.

Delivery platform? WMD could be delivered via a small personal craft or even a Zodiac. Why would anyone hijack a slow-moving tanker? You've answered your own question.

NEVER FORGET
...What I've been doing ever since MONSOOR IJAZ's telling us on September 12, 2001 on National TV that the CLINTONS refused his 3 Brokered Offers with the Sudan to bring OSAMA here during the 1990's...
...is to not only follow MONSOOR's continuing Commentaries on TV with great interest...
...but to also interface with him as well on National Talk Radio to learn even more from him. And I think the BUSH Administration is also listening to MONSOOR IJAZ Big Time.
...My Fellow Veteran of the Battle of IA DRANG-1965, RICK RESCORLA, perished as Tower 2 came crashing down on him after his saving 1,000's of other lives on September 11, 2001.
...I hold the Enemy Within CLINTONS personally accountable for RICK's untimely and unnecessary death that infamous day.
...And thus my Energies expended in this direction for the last 2 years.

Gonna be a little difficult accelerating them to 600mph and crashing them into buildings though.

Okay, I read the entire thread.
I think that comment could be construed in several ways. I don't remember the show but I don't doubt that Mansoor has extensive contacts within the Muslim community. The first time I saw him on Fox, I knew he was CIA. I could be wrong but I would bet a lot of money I'm not. Mansoor knows of what he speaks, likely firsthand. Due to his Muslim(?) religion, I would be concerned where his loyalties lie but I can also see him defending something he holds dear without embracing the terrorism component. It's a tough call.

Fascinating story of a terrible tragedy.
I thought I knew my WWI history pretty well, but I had never heard of this explosion.
Thanks for posting it.

I'm sure the LNG shipments to Northeastern Ports would have to be a major concern

My aunt who lived on Galveston Island has been convinced that Texas City, Texas will be a terrorist target -- the potential devastation could destroy Galveston and the southeastern Houston metro area, not to mention causing problems for the Port of Houston and access to the Houston Ship Channel. Texas City is a petro-chemical refining nightmare of a city, looking a bit like Hell at night, belching fire and smoke.

I have nightmares thinking about these terrorists hijacking a LNG(Liquid Natural Gas) carrier, and blowing it up in New York Harbor.
To: John H K
Anyway, point is 99.999999% of these stories are going to end up being bogus, despite there being one rather unusual attack being successful.Exactly the goal of terrorism, instill fear and uncertainty in people.

Frankly, I just don't trust the guy on someone's words of "He's great!" and "He's wonderful".
There were some reported nefarious connections involving Pakistan's nuclear program (the guys Dad was a particle physicist), Mansoor (actually his MIDDLE name) was trying to gear up to profit from the export of oil out of Sudan in 1997, he's a Dumocrap and the guys parents were Pakistani emmigrants to the USA.
I'd take whatever the guy says, use what we can-calmly, and take the rest with a grain of salt (also take a very close look at where the guys money comes from and all his prior connections).
I think it's entirely possible Free Republic may have been infiltrated by some disinformationists trying to help terrorize.
Mansoor was very "in" with the Clinton Gore crowd, some Saudis and other names on the terror fringes; I just don't completely trust the guy.
These days, it's best to do a little investigating on one's own as anybody can post on these pages.

Those areas would experience not only a severe economic effect but would exhibit a very potent psychological blow for all of us, IMO.

Well, that's possibilty. But since the Panamal Canal is now run by the Chinese, that could be a strategic mistake.

You could still cause a disaster within a harbor .. but how about running the two together .. cruise ship and oil tanker .. you would then have the added extortion value of human beings. I'm glad I don't have a cruise planned. Hadn't thought of that one. Considered one or the other but not both in conjunction. If they took out ports that supplied oil to the west, or blocked narrow passages, wouldn't it delay oil reaching the US? How long of a delay would it take before it affected our economy?
