Some of the conclusions of the author are a little 'off the wall'; but, by and large, the problem is going to escalate to the point of real disruption. Clearly, there is no political will on the part of either major party nor any business interest to do anything except promote further lawbreaking by declaring an amnesty, thus encouraging more illegal border jumping. Those in legislatures across America are going to have a lot to answer for should a major epidemic like drug-resistant tuberculosis sweep through the population, or some real bad actors like those who destroyed the WTC sneak over the border diguised as "poor Mexicans, just looking for work". Another event like 9/11 traced to the southern border could be a triggering event. Those politicians screwing around with this issue are taking a very big risk with their futures.

As long as 90% of Illegal Alien apprehensions and deportations occur within 3 days of crossing the border, the borders won't be secure.

You basically cannot renounce your citizenship any longer. The courts have held that there is essentially no way to legally renounce citizenship except by joining the army of a foreign nation which is at war with the United States. Joining the army of a foreign nation not at war with the U.S. is insufficient. Standing in the middle of Times Square with network cameras rolling and proclaiming that you renounce your citizenship is insufficient.

Thus has citizenship been further cheapened...
