Sounds like you understand as much about addiction and recovery about as well as some of the others here...that is, not at all. A drug addict is a drug addict is a drug addict. Cocaine, alcohol, crack, oxy's...they are ALL the same. Try asking someone who has been through treatment and is in recovery.

Get back to me when you have evidence of Rush breaking into a house and pointing a gun at a person to get money to service his habit and then we can talk.

Addiction takes people to places they thought they would never go.

So you're not against drugs per se, but against those that can't pay for them with an ordinary job?

That's the argument I've been using as an anti-WOD supporter. No harm, no crime. Maybe I'm just getting forgetful in my old age, but Dane, aren't you one always concerned about the 'societal impact' of drugs? The 'culture' created by drug usage?

Think about the other customers Rush's dealer had. Do you think they were all millionaires with talkshows? Rush was supporting the Drug Culture, and even supporting terrorism, if we're to believe the promotional government material.

Rush himself may have been 'above the fray' compared to your usual drug user, but he was using all of its machinery, enriching drug dealer's wallets. Rush hasn't decreased the amount of damage in society -- in fact, following WOD logic, Rush is certainly contributing to it.

How did his dealer get the Oxycontin? Legally? Or is it possible that his dealer used illegal means ot acquire Rush's drugs?

There was plenty of illegal behavior going on in order to get Rush his narcotics.

Nice dodge, but not good enough. We're talking about addiction, not armed robbery. Get back to me when you learn something about addiction and recovery.
