This remindes me of all the Bennet threads. Why do people assume that people that are in the public eye are perfect?Who assumed that?
I'm assuming you didn't.
That is correct. So who did assume it?

Long story short, I live in pain because I am afraid of strong drugs. I too had chronic pain, neck pain so severe that it would wake me at night, I couldn't turn my head while driving some days, this lasted for a year. And I am convinced I'd still have it to this day.
One day I was talking to someone who had suffered back pain in an accident and without my even telling him of my own troubles, he started talking about a homeopathic product, it's called Arniflora (Arnica Gel), it's made from a mountain flower called arnica, has been used for centuries for this, and is used by coaches today in sports.
Right after talking to this man, I went to a nearby homeopathic store, luckily they carried it, I started using it that day, a Friday, and by the Monday after that there was a noticeable difference.
Within 3 weeks, most of the pain was gone, I was able to move my neck more which helped loosen it up. I'd recommend it to anyone, maybe it would help your back or even Rush's.
I've even seen it for sale on the web. No side effects. Nothing internal. An amazing product, maybe it won't help all sorts of pain, but it's worth trying if anyone's interested.

The Admin Mod pulled several threads because the Admin Mod didn't want there to be dozens of threads about the same thing, with the discussion being fragmented all over the place. The Admin Mod was pretty sure this was coming. The Admin Mod had this thread up for that purpose, and The Admin Mod had it in breaking and the Admin Mod updated the title to reflect what he said as fast as the Admin Mod could while also taking care of pulling the dozen of duplicate threads. The Admin Mod did just fine.

Thanks! My buddies in their mid 50's are starting to whine about feeling their age, but I'm not gonna listen to them.

Hey, why not start a thread about Rush in regards to the WO(s)D?

Jerry Lewis (the comedian) was on Conan O'Brien's show about a month ago. He had endured serious back pain and was frustrated to the point that he nearly took a gun and committed suicide (he says that his (grand?)daughter walked in).
He spent much of his appearance promoting some device that he had medically inserted that has a remote control and sends electrical shocks to the nervous system to disrupt the pain signals (it can be throttled to counteract higher levels of pain). He was so impressed by this device that he wanted to work as a spokesman for the company just to help others end their pain.
Some may see it as a snake oil salesman trick but I don't think that he's a paid spokesman and he seemed very obsessed by the benefits of this device.

So I guess when he says "I accept full responsibility", he means it in a Janet Reno sort of way. I seriously doubt it, Wolfie. Geez, you're on a roll today.

"You know I have always tried to be honest with you and open about my life. So I need to tell you today that part of what you have heard and read is correct. I am addicted to prescription pain medication. "I first started taking prescription painkillers some years ago when my doctor prescribed them to treat post surgical pain following spinal surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery was unsuccessful and I continued to have severe pain in my lower back and also in my neck due to herniated discs. I am still experiencing that pain. Rather than opt for additional surgery for these conditions, I chose to treat the pain with prescribed medication. This medication turned out to be highly addictive.
"Over the past several years I have tried to break my dependence on pain pills and, in fact, twice checked myself into medical facilities in an attempt to do so. I have recently agreed with my physician about the next steps.
"Immediately following this broadcast, I am checking myself into a treatment center for the next 30 days to once and for all break the hold this highly addictive medication has on me. The show will continue during this time, of course, with an array of guest hosts you have come to know and respect.
"I am not making any excuses. You know, over the years athletes and celebrities have emerged from treatment centers to great fanfare and praise for conquering great demons. They are said to be great role models and examples for others. Well, I am no role model. I refuse to let anyone think I am doing something great here, when there are people you never hear about, who face long odds and never resort to such escapes. They are the role models. I am no victim and do not portray myself as such. I take full responsibility for my problem.
"At the present time, the authorities are conducting an investigation, and I have been asked to limit my public comments until this investigation is complete. So I will only say that the stories you have read and heard contain inaccuracies and distortions, which I will clear up when I am free to speak about them.
"I deeply appreciate all your support over this last tumultuous week. It has sustained me. I ask now for your prayers. I look forward to resuming our excursion into broadcast excellence together."

No, I really don't have a problem with your taking care of unrelated stuff. That's why you're here. And we do appreciate your helping to keep the discussions here at FR civil. So if I don't understand sometimes, then please bear with me. This is a great forum and well - it just keeps on getting stronger. Whatever else I may have said, let's it from here on be water under the bridge.
