Media Has Been Very Desirous That A Female Golfer Do Well [Can We At Least Admit This]

Sportswriters were shocked and outraged when Rush Limbaugh outed them as a group of politically correct social engineers. They feigned disbelief that anyone would ever accuse them of promoting a player simply because of the player's race.
Chris Berman stated that he was "angry" with Rush because his ESPN football show had always been "just about football." Never mind the fact that the show did more than a few stories on the number of minority coaches in the NFL and was certainly not "just about football."
He more accurately could have said his show had always been "just about football and political correctness and we don't tolerate dissent."
Now if sportwriters will not admit that many of them root for players simply because of race, will they at least admit some of them have rooted for an athelete because of the player's sex?
Annika Sorenstam for instance?
Which makes one wonder. Rush is also a golf fan. What if, instead of being hired as a football analyst, Rush had been as a golf commentator. And what if Rush had said the following in reference to Annika Sorenstam :
"Annika Sorenstam is overrated. The media has been very desirous that a female golfer do well."
Obviously, no one would have been offended at the time Rush made this statement. But after his words were reviewed for forty-eight hours, would the NOW and the politically correct sportswriting cabal have called for Rush's head?
Sadly, liberals are destroying sports just as they destroy everything else.

"Desirous"? More like "desperate" that a female be able to beat the top men at golf. A sad spectacle for the game, too.

You should have put this in breaking news.

Sportswriters would kick her ball out of the rough, if nobody was looking.

If the gallery moved the rock of a white golfer the sports writers would have gone into orbit but under the circumstances it showed the politcal correctness of the writers involved.

Isn't the WNBA and the media's continued coverage of it despite the fact that NOBODY WATCHES IT evidence that the NBA and the media are DESIROUS that females do well in basketball? That league loses money every year and continues to be propped up by the NBA.

People like Chris Berman are nothing more than Sports Pimps. The only sport most of them have participated in was badminton. The average man on the streets opinion is much more valied than the average so called sportscaster like Berman.
I think it is called opinions and "Monday Morning Quarter backing" to which most of us are just as good as they are.

Media Has Been Very Desirous That A Female Golfer Do Well [Can We At Least Admit This] Can we admit it? We've had thousand post threads on the subject here. The answer to the media's wishes is flat-out NO. The PGA gift-wrapped a spot in a tournament hand-picked for the best player in the world earlier this year. She got her ass kicked and later admitted that she did not blong out there. The media ignored this and set about making excuses for her. Michelle Wei has driven the ball 300 yards a couple of times in here life. The media would have you believe that that is her average. It isn't. Women are wonderful and I love them, but I love them specifically because they are not men.

"Annika Sorenstam is overrated. The media has been very desirous that a female golfer do well."
This above statement is true because Annika brings money and viewers to golf and a lot of viewers and money if she did well.
The above statement with McNabb's name is false, because McNabb doing well would not add much to the NFL or media bottom lines.
The above statement is true with Yao Ming's name, because he adds viewers and money to the NBA.
Ditto for Michelle Wei (14 year old woman golfer). Ditto for any white guy who can win at boxing (no one showed up yet).
The statement is not true for black quarterbacks. Rush was wrong here.

The statement is not true for black quarterbacks. Rush was wrong here.Perhaps, but Rush was not fired because people thought he was wrong. He was forced to resign becuase his comments were politically incorrect. Even the best football analysts give opinions that are occassionally incorrect.

People like Chris Berman are nothing more than Sports Pimps. They also seem to be among the most anxious to appear PC. As a result their attempts to be 'open minded' appear clumsy, obsequious and transparent.
Makes me wonder what they're trying to compensate for.
