"Another source familiar with the interviewing process says the FBI was concerned that many of the applicants were ''too close to Israel,'' and might lack the objectivity to accurately translate the Arabic recordings and writings of Muslim terrorist suspects under investigation. "

Would that our military be more concerned about our Gitmo translators being 'too close to Islam'.....

I am in the camp that believes that religion, ethnicity and race play a legitimate role in evaluating security risk whether it is at the airport, Guantanamo, the New Jersey Turnpike, or the FBI/CIA.

This is profiling ..... of Jews and then a decidedly Hate Crime outcome.

CONCLUSION: Jews is America are not Americans, but Islamic terrorists are. (2003 FBI policy)

Unfortunately this situation appears to be a deserved double whack at the fibbies - incompetence at the highest levels and anti-Semitism. Sigh. :-(

But of course, Islamic translators couldn't possibly be "too close to the enemy"...

Balin argues that the Arab Jews it sent to the FBI to apply for translator jobs ''would be more likely to be loyal to the United States.''

And a Muslim is going to be loyal to the Saudi government ---- by definition they can't be loyal to an infidel state like the United States because it isn't under Sharia law.
