Wasn't Tesla transmitting power wirelessly?

I understand that Testa lit up the town Cripple Creek, Colo. by transmitting power through the air from Colorado Springs. This feat has not been replicated.
I also understand that Tesla could create ball lightning, another feat that has not been replicated.
He also blew out all the power in Colorado Springs. That feat has been surpassed by a pigeon in Ohio, who blew out the power for 50 million people. Oh, well, some records die easy.

tesla transmitted power in the near field of low frequency condenser. he overloaded the power generator in colorado springs with one of his larger tesla coils (magnifying transmitters). ball lightning is regularly created in the lab today. he did not light up Cripple Creek by transmitting power through the air.

OK, who's the smart@ss who stepped in front of the laser?" That would be the one with the hole through him.

Totally useless. Make something that can carry at least 300 lbs securely then you'll have something.

Not a safe proposition at this point of physics engineering. We may be stuck within range of our solar system until the end of mankind. We would never know, though, without some funding for scientific investigation. Many Free Republic members seem to entertain the old saw "If man were meant to fly God would have given us wings".
I say we were meant to fly in ways we haven't even concieved of yet.

a lot of things we take for granted had a small start.
This may come to nothing more than a toy, or it may become something huge.
In 1900, there were 50 automobiles in the US.
1n 1903, two bicyclists flew a flimsy craft a few hundred feet.
in 2003, there are untold millions of automobiles, everyday there are thousands and thousands of airplane and jet flights, and we have sent probes across our solar system.
Small? yes. Insignificant? We shall see.

the old saw "If man were meant to fly God would have given us wings". The answer to that is that God created man in his image and likeness. At the core of the passage is CREATIVITY. Part of the Imago Dei is our creativity--our ability to think and do beyond what is merely extant now.
Plastics may be the supreme example of the Imago Dei.

Testa ....blew out all the power in Colorado Springs. That feat has been surpassed by a pigeon in Ohio, who blew out the power for 50 million people. Well, on C2CAM, a guest physicist said his sources (paging Ambassador Wilson...) told him that the NE power blackout was the
unintended result of a huge Tesla coil test at a secret US-UK base in Ontario.
